Has anyone made their own flower bouquet with artificial red roses? If so...could you share pics and where you bought the flowers? I think for our wedding day I'll purchase real flowers through Disney...but for the MK photo shoot I was hoping to make a bouquet to use for the pics.

Thanks so much!

I'm going to a craft store this afternoon to look at some artificial flowers for my own bouqet. Another bride had posted an artificial bouqet she had ordered made from lilies. It looked great and in a photograph I couldn't tell the difference. I too need a bouqet for wedding day, MK shoot 2 days later, and an at home reception. I don't want to pay to have a live bouqet refreshed and then preserved plus I think artifical would travel much better. I'll keep my eyes my peeled for some nice artificial red roses and let you know what I see.

I did all our flowers for our DL wedding. My bouquet was made of red velvet roses. I thought they came out beautifully and no one knew the difference.

Musiksmith...wow your bouquet is awesome looking! Where did you purchase your roses? Did you have any other pics? Did you make the boutonniere for the groom as well? Sorry for all the questions :)

Thanks Jenny! I've looked around here and haven't found anything that looks 'real'. If I find something...I might even consider making them for the wedding day itself...

i used fake flowers for my bridal portraits, no sense in sending 50+ dollars for that IMO! i got my flowers from Michael's craft store. i'm sure at any craft store you can find some pretty flowers and arrange them to your liking. good luck!

I bought the velvet roses at Tall Mouse Crafts in Southern California. I haven't seen them anywhere else, but they do have a nice selection at Michael's and Joann's. I also made the BMs bouquets, the bouts, and corsages. I'm glad you liked them! I will try to post more pics soon.

I'm interested in this too so I just wanted to suscribe!

For those that had artificial flowers, how did you transport them?

Well, as promised I bought artifical flowers for my bouqets and boutonnieres. I have a very small wedding party (4 including the bride and groom) and the circumstances are better that my flowers be artificial. We are actually planning on using some live potted plants for a fresh floral feeling. :cutie: I got the calla lilies that have the most life-like appearance. I did not see any velvet flowers. Im using some green berries and crystaly-thingies to fill the bouqet. I spent $30 or $40 on flowers (bride, MOH, groom, BM, MOB, throw away bouqet). Much better then finding $300-$400 for floral in my budget. I forgot to mention I am not a flowery-flowery kind of girl.

I'll post pictures when they start to come together.

mermaidbride1108: I am planning on having someone drive a car down with our gowns, centerpieces, and other decorations so the flowers will be boxed carefully away. From experience (proms and formals) artificial flowers hold up very well.

I had Disney do my boquet with the fake flowers and I loved them. I did not have to pay to preserve them or to freshen them up for the MK session. I sent Rosie a sample of the color that the girls were wearing and she matched my flowers perfectly. As far as my BM and MOH goes my MOH's aunt used to work at a floral store and all I had to do was buy the roses and stuff and she wrapped them for us. We took them with us on the plane with no questions asked.

Princessblueyes...would you mind me asking about how much your bouquet cost? Just trying to figure out if it's worth me making them here and shipping/taking them there. Thanks!
