I think we as parents put pressure on ourselves that don't make us or our children any happier.

I always cringe when I see posts here about people that have never left their kids home with anyone but their spouse or that they say that their child is their whole life, etc. What are these people going to do with themselves when their children leave for their own lives?? I suppose then it takes on the next step of all the posts about interfering in-laws . Hopefully people will realize that this attitude is not healthy for the parent or the child.

I never thought about HPs turning into interfering in-laws.
That makes perfect sense though.
