I was just on the ART website trying to figure out exactly how it works. I was looking at the Marriott on Harbor and using ART it makes it look like it drives all the way out to Knott's first?! What the heck?

Can someone please explain to me what that's all about? I am confused. Why would I want to drive all over the place when Disneyland is just down the road??

You must be looking in the wrong place.

Which Marriott? The one by the convention center or the one down in Garden Grove?
Either way, you should be able to take line #1 from either Marriott (it only goes up and down Harbor). If you are staying at the one by the convention center, you can take line # 1, 2 or 3.

Also if you are wanting to buy ahead of time your passes for ART depending on when you will be going getawaytoday.com has 5 day passes for the price of 3 AND free kid age 3-9 with paying adult :)

We aren't even 100% sure when we're going. Only just throwing around the idea. Was looking at various hotels. Now I'm not so sure about the Marriott after seeing bed bug reports.

But with hotels that have ART...do you basically just buy a pass...get on the bus and they take you to the gates? Or do you have to stop a million times on the way?

(New to all of this ART business. We typically stay within walking distance.)

Every hotel get's bed bugs, (even the best of them), they come from hotel guests. You have ensure that they have a ready response and they take care of the situation. Just Google Bed bugs and Grand Californian, and there are 6800 hits. I would feel more secure at a larger chain hotel, than I would in a smaller independent hotel.

The ART is a good way to head up and down between the Convention area and the resort. The 1 or 2 are just up and down on Harbour Blvd. We are staying at the Marriott near the Convention Center, and will be getting the ART tickets for the ride up and down.

It will depend on the route you take... the one we use there used to be 3 stops.. and now I believe there is 4, but they go a different way

Ugh, not liking the sound of ART after all. May have to stick with a walking distance hotel until our son is a bit older.

I think the convention center Marriott is walkable, or you can walk across Harbor to the Toy Story lot and take a shuttle to the parks.

ART is really quite easy to use and gives you the ability to look at hotels that may be a bit further away than you prefer to walk. We've stayed at Worldmark which I think was route 8, we were the last stop of 3 (maybe 4) and the entire route only took 20 min. Last Oct we stayed at DoubleTree Suites which is 1 mile away. Most days we walked to the park and would take ART back. Also had a couple afternoon trips back to the room. Since there were various bus route numbers that stopped by we never waited that long. There is also the option of staying close to the Toy Story parking lot and hopping on a bus there, which is free, they have several running constantly. For our upcoming trip we are staying at Embassy Suites S which is a 1.3 miles away. They don't have ART but do offer a 3rd party shuttle service which does run on a set time schedule (which I like), every 30 min, so there can't possibly be that many stops along the way. Good luck planning!

We used it our first trip staying at the Clarion and it wasn't to bad a lot of times we would walk out the hotel door just as one was pulling off (our luck) but it wouldn't be to long before another came, our next trip we are going to stay at the new Homewood suites and its right next to the Toy Story lot and I think we will give that a try this time
