ART shuttle or taxi??

I've heard that taking the ART shuttle is a hassle. We are staying at the Embassy Suites South and wondering if a taxi may be easier. How much would a taxi cost to/from Disneyland? Does anyone know if the shuttle is $3.00 per day or per trip?
