i am travelling with 4 kids ages 14 and can stay at cabins for 210 a night (fl resident rate) or at art of animation for 279 a night should i spend the extra $ and stay at animation or are the cabins good. we havent stayed at either

I love the cabins! We stayed there in June and absolutely loved having all the space and the extra beds. The full-size refrigerator was also a huge bonus.

Now there are some things that people dislike about the cabins. Within Fort Wilderness, you are heavily reliant on buses. There are buses to take you around the resort (which is huge!) and buses that also take you to the different parks. During our stay in June, they ran pretty regularly and we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus. On the plus side, you can take a boat from the marina to the Magic Kingdom - which is fabulous!

Also, this resort is really spread-out. We are the type of family that love to be somewhat secluded. This means that we prefer not being really close to people.

Another plus is that there is TONS to do at this resort. Kayaking, fishing, pool time, horseback riding, watching fireworks from the beach, etc.

We have not stayed at AoA yet. That is on the calendar for December. Whichever way you go, hope you have a fabulous trip!

Another voice for the Cabins. With 4 14 year olds, you will appreciate the added space. The 14 year olds can have the bedroom and you can have the Murphy bed in the living room. You will also appreciate the full kitchen, even if you only use it for cold drinks and snacks. The campground is wonderful and there is lots of space. The one downside I see is that you will only have 1 bathroom.
Good Luck

Thanks for the responses. I booked the cabins so I'm really excited:goodvibes

Great! You should have a great time. Having space is a valuable feature, and room to play outside is always nice. You got a Moderate for less than a Value, so I think you did great. The only major downside is that you won't be right next to stuff, so you may have a decent walk to get to park busses or the boats at the marina, but there are FW busses for you to ride and you could even rent a golf cart to add to the fun, but it is not a necessity. Enjoy!

Rent the golf cart - it is so much easier to get around. And, find where the "community" bathrooms are near your cabin -- such as laundry areas or by pools, as there is only 1 bathroom in the cabins and their might be a need for 2 to be using it at the same time. Finding where an alternative is in advance should help. We stayed 5 in the cabins and LOVED every minute of it.

Exactly what I was going to say - you can put the 4 14-yr olds in the double & bunks in the bedroom & shut the door, so youhave your own space in the living room! Only downside I can see is the 1 bath in the cabin vs. 2 at AoA, but only you know if that's a reasonable concern for you or not!

Enjoy!!!

Haven't stayed at AoA but have stayed st both ASMu family suite and cabins and preferred the family suite.

Are you planning to cook meals? If so cabins are great but I preferred the convenience of the food courts at the values. Ft Wilderness doesn't have great quick service options.

At AoA you could use the bedroom with Queen bed.:thumbsup2
