Art of Animation Resort costs MORE than the Poly?

Just looked up room only passholder prices for the new Art of Animation resort for 4 nights during the 2nd week in June.

I was quoted $1582 for the 4 nights. It was $327 during the week and $375 on Fri and Sat.

After I got up off the floor from falling out of my chair, I looked up the Poly for the same 4 nights. total price $1536. Thats $325 Wed and Thur and $357 Fri and Sat.

BC/YC or Boardwalk can do the 4 nights for under $1300.

Guess I won't be staying at the new resort till the grand opening hoopla dies down.

Was that a quote for a family suite at AOA? I didn't think the regular rooms were opening until later in the year.

Yes I realize it is a family suite, but I can get a FW Cabin with full kitchen for $1181 or a 1 bedroom villa at AKV with a full kitchen and washer dryer for $1463.

It seems like at least the first few months they've been priced very high. If they keep it that way, I'm wondering if they are trying to position it more like a moderate.

IIRC the existing suites were priced at about 2x a standard value room. But this seems like they are aimed at closer to 4x.

Ok then, a family suite at ASMu for the same dates came to $1085

I hope your right about the price coming down in a few months.

Wow, that seems really high even for a family suite. I thought Art of Animation was supposed to be sort of on par with the Pop & All Stars. I wonder if the prices will go down a bit once the opening crowds diminish.
