Hi - doing some research on ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) and am having a heckuva time getting details from their website. There's a map PDF, which seems to clog up my computer every time I try to access it, and I'm not seeing a schedule that lists detailed info.

Basically, I want to know if the ART gets to DL in time for the various early morning stuff, i.e. the Toontown Morning and the Magic Mornings. We are staying at the Portofino, which is walkable, but we also have a 4-yr-old in our group ....... Also does the ART go to Downtown Disney?

I found a deal on GetAwayTickets today for $30 for our group for an ART pass for 5 days, and am just pondering if I should get those tickets so we have a back-up plan.

Thanks for any info you can give me about this, or just point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Yes it starts early. It varies but it takes into account DL schedule. Also it's not just a tourist thing and workers may be riding it too so it runs early to Disneyland.

I don't think it goes to DTD, but DTD starts 200 feet from the gates. I think the only DLR stop is on the Harbor side of the gates.

Slightly less convinient. The Portofino is near the intersection of Kattela and Harbor. So Kitty Corner to Portofino's location is a public bus stop. So you have the option of taking OCTA and then getting off a couple blocks down just past the cross walk into DLR.

Well, here is the schedule. They only have it up through this week, but it looks as though they do start early, but maybe not early enough if you want to be among the first in line.

For example, DL opens at 9am tomorrow, but has MM at 8am. The first ART stop is at 7:20am, which means you would get to DL maybe by 7:35am or so? Most on this board would want to be standing in line at this point. But it would totally depend on your schedule.

Make sure to check out GetAwayToday's website for purchase of your ART passes; sale on right now - $10 for 5 days (instead of only 3) for an adult pass, PLUS free child's pass too!

Did you know you can text a number and they text back the next 3 times estimated arrival of the bus? It is on the front page of the map, you have to send the text including your route number.

I would never depend on ART for any of the early morning activities. What we found in the past is that their is +/- 20 minutes not including shift change or the mid day break, so it is your call....

Being a "touring DLR early is better" person, this is why I won't stay at a place that requires ART for me to get to DLR. I prefer staying onsite or at a nearby Harbor Blvd. hotel & walking to the turnstiles.

Given ArchOwl's example above, I want to be AT THE SECURITY TENT at 7:20am......not just getting on a Bus at 7:20am (that is, if it's on time....which it might not be).

I don't even like CCI dedicated shuttle in the morning. It dumped me off at :32 when i wanted to be there at :20. (love the CCI shuttle for mid day & at night though :)).

Sorry to hijack.....for those not touring early (or not wanting to leave & ride after the fireworks or WOC)....the ART is a good option. (just not as good as using your feet. ;)).

:)

Hound - you and I are on the same page. It would drive me CRAZY to wait for a shuttle to come, knowing that I was wasting time that could be spent at Disney!

Totally depends on your style. If you are like me, I usually try to squeeze in as much park time as I can (we don't go every year, and when we do it's only for a few days). So I forgo ART otherwise I will drive DH bonkers and end up with a neurotic DD. Instead we go to the Tropicana and walk over.

If you like a more leisurely pace, or you don't need to be somewhere by a certain time, then ART would work.
