Art Homework Project - HELP!

Hi everyone! My son (11) has to do an art project - written report, oral report, and actual project on Medieval/Armor Gothic Art!

I am probably the last person who can help him out. I have never really had much of an interest in art!

I would love to help him, but I don't even know where to begin. Does anyone know where on the internet he could go to look up Medieval Armor Art?

He has several questions he needs to find answers to and then he needs to do the project itself. He now has one week left to do all of this. (this is when mom gets really nervous!)

Just have hi do a search for medieval armour. Then he can go to ask jeeves and type in where can I find medieval armour designs? and see whta they come up with. Good luck- it should be fun!

My son did something like that a long time ago. I will try to remember the details. They cut out the shape of a shield in cardboard. Then they covered it with a sheet of tin foil, putting the dull side out. Then, using a dull object, they etched a design into the shield being careful not to break through the foil. Lastly, they painted parts of the shield. They were beautiful!

Some of the kids did it a little differently. They cut the shield out of cardboard. Then they drew a design on the shield in pencil and traced over the design with a glue gun. Once the glue dried, they put the tin foil (dull side up) over top. Then they gently rubbed the foil to outline the raised design underneath. Then they painted where necessary.

How far down in CT are you?? There's the Higgins Armory in Worcester, MA. I have never been there, but it's supposed to have quite the collection. Not sure if that helps at all, but maybe they have a web site??

I know ALL about the Mom panic...DS9 had a book report due back on 2/13 (the day before vacation) and the entire family sweated over that one!
