Arriving one night earlier than planned - value, offsite or cash ressie?

We decided to arrive Sat. afternoon rather than Sunday for our Spring Break trip next April (SW fares on Sat were much lower -and we have an AP ) - we're booked at a BWV studio Sun-Thurs. So, for those of you with more experience with these trips - is a cash ressie at BWV through MS possible for Sat night - pre Easter week - or do we try a value and save the $$ - or even more $$ offsite? We'll plan on doing the parks Sunday, but probably not Sat night. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
And Happy Holidays, everyone! :santa:

We're flying in on a Friday night and have decided to spend that night at the Swan to save points. I just figured since it's right next door, the move will be easier. I inquired and they will move our luggage to the BWV by 3 o'clock the next afternoon.

We just did that, arrived one night early. We were going to stay off site, but then decided that we would book a room in a Disney resort which we had never stayed in, Coronado. It was nice doing it that way and since you have an AP, maybe you can get an AP room only rate.

We do this on our trips to WDW. We usually stay in a Value resort. Hard to beat $79 per night with free luggage transfer! ;)

We stay at a value for the first night. We have APs so that makes it even more of a bargain. We always rent a car, so we just move our luggage ourselves. I like to go straight to the Disney magic when we arrive in Orlando!

Another vote for staying at a value for Sat. night. With a discount, it's the least expensive way to start your "magic", and each one of them can be appreciated for their unique theming. It's a very different experience than a DVC, but it's a fun one, too. :thumbsup2

We've done off-site near the airport, DTD Doubletree on DH's points, and Value. I'd do any of the three again based on our travel plans. Near the airport was good for an evening arrival. We stayed across the street from an Applebees and just walked over for dinner then crashed for the evening then woke up the next morning for our grocery run and did our early check-in. DTD was good because it was free and it allowed us to stay in a similar size accomodation as DVC (seperate bedroom so DS could go to bed and we could stay up - nice)...and also free :thumbsup2 We stayed two nights there, but just didn't feel like it was terribly "magical" - like our vacation hadn't actually started....but again, it was free - with free breakfast too...so I'd do it again, but probably for one night only. Our last visit we stayed at Pop Century, and while it was the worst night's sleep of the three (our neighbor family was wicked loud and we could hear them really well through the lock-off door) I liked it the best for the theming and DS loved the pool.

So I guess all-in-all I'd probably lean toward a Value or Moderate before off-site. AP rates make them very economical.

We've done both offsite and a value resort (POP). We prefer POP, I know it is silly, but I just feel more secure leaving our packed car in a Disney resort parking lot for that night than in the parking lot of an offsite hotel. I know crime/theft can occur anywhere, but I think the fact that folks have to go through the guard gate at Disney helps lessen the chance of an incident somewhat.

Save and use the AP discount at a value, it's only one night.

Another vote for using your AP discount at any onsite resort that you want to try out. Also, if you are driving, I would recomment that you head to your DVC resort first thing Sunday morning to get checked-in (though not moved in) before heading to the parks. That way, when you get home from a day at the park, your paperwork is already taken care of and you really can just go home...

We just did this exact same thing two weeks ago!

We decided to go with a AP rate for Port Orleans Riverside. We got in around 7pm and went straight to OKW.

We checked our luggage in that night and then headed to POR with our overnight bag.

I got up early the next morning and headed over to OKW and checked us in. By the time we were ready for our afternoon break our room was ready!

This was nice also b/c we had our room keys so we could use our dining plan also.

We got to the room and called and had our luggage delivered within 10 mins!
