Arriving late in the day - how best to see WOC

We're taking a quick trip to DLR the weekend of May 18th. We won't be arriving into SNA until 7pm so we thought we'd drop off the bags at BWPPI and rush over to the parks.

We'd like to see the late show of WOC that evening, but since we won't have fast passes, how would we go about seeing it? Is there a GA section?

I've got the planning down for early mornings, but not late arrivals!

This will be very tight. It's possible they will still be distributing the free FPs at GRR. You could order picnics but would only have until 8pm to pick them up.

You might do a late dinner at AG or WCT.

HOnestly, the best way to see it is to stand in the Little Mermaid ride stand-by area! I tell this to people all the time, its a GREAT view of the show and its better than a lot of the viewing area anyway without the hassle of getting a ticket and then standing in line for an hour!

YOu will get a great panarama view of the entire show and will see 90% of it! You will mainly not be able to see the smaller effects happening on the water like some of the lasers and fog, but everything else will be no problems!

The only other drawbacks are the people who are walking through and I think they leave the lights on in the area, but honestly its not much of a distraction at all!

My advice, show up 10-15 mins before if you can and try and stand between the blue and yellow section. That seems to have the best optimum view for me anyway!

All the other stand by areas are OK, but they are all on the side or behind the show and behind just sucks period! Little Mermaid standby is the best you will get! In fact, I dont even bother getting FPs anymore unless I'm with someone new who has never seen it or wants to get up close as possible. And if you just get the red section, FORGET IT! Grab a spot by The Little Mermaid! Its just easier and less timely for me! And the viewing area just sucks in general!

Enjoy the trip! :)

"dougsmom98" also really likes the view from the Little Mermaid queue area.

... We saw some other people standing/sitting at the Little Mermaid building/queue area which is behind the viewing area. We sat on the edge of the queue ramp and watched the show from this spot and it was AMAZING! It was better than our front row spots from the bridge. The images were so much clearer because we were straight on and we could see the images on the loop of California Screamin. Now, that being said, we missed a few of the fountains at the very surface of the lake, but the view made up for it and we didn't have to deal with crowds. I am not sure if they always let people watch from this area though. Because we were right against the building, we were not blocking the walkway at all, and I think that is why it was fine. Because we were away from the crowd, kids on their parents shoulders had no effect on our view at all. I will never pay for seating for WOC now, and I will not stress about getting a good spot down front any more.

What a great idea- we'll try the Little Mermaid area - thanks for the help!

Exactly! Honestly, sometimes its even better because the farther back you are, the easier it is to see the whole show! And yes, because its only 1-2 rows deep, you NEVER have to worry about someone getting in the way of viewing! Thats always a big question in the viewing area. One guy with his kid on his shoulders 5 rows ahead of you can kill it for you! I'm pretty glad not everyone has caught on how great this area is! ;)

Cool, no problem! Again get there 10-15 mins before the show and you should be fine! If you are seeing the second show, it may be a bit busier than the first because they dont even open the standby section in the first show until maybe 20 mins before it starts, but you will get a decent spot regardless!
