Arriving Early with FastPass+ Reservations

We have a 7-day park hopper ticket with FastPass+ reservations for every day. We were scheduled to start touring Sunday, April 17.

Our plans have changed and we are considering entering the park the evening of Saturday, April 16. We would probably watch the new Star Wars fireworks and would not use a FastPass for this.

1. If we arrive at the park and don't buy an extra day's ticket, will Disney cancel our FastPasses for the last day automatically? Should we add the extra day of ticket at the ticket window?

2. Will our MagicBands work for park entry the day before our scheduled arrival or are the tied to the start date of our reservation?

1. You will have some time before that happens.

2. You can (and I would) add the day at Guest Relations inside the park within a couple of hours after you enter.

3. If you have WDW Resort PACKAGE tickets, you must activate the tickets before you can use them.
If you have stand-alone tickets, no activation is necessary.

Regardless, the MB does not require activation.

I was kind of curious about this also as we added a room only to the day before our package starts with our 7 day passes. Right now I have FP+ reservations set up for all 7 days starting when our package starts, but we are planning on going to guest relations to activate our tickets early on our "new arrival day" and then upgrade to AP's later in the day to cover all of our days. So Robo if you activate your tickets a day early and don't also upgrade at the same time, will the system not cancel one of your reserved FP+ days because it thinks you now have reservations on a day that there is not enough tickets days for?

Yes. But, it does not do so immediately or quickly.
If you go into a park on an earlier day than you had booked, just go to a Guest Relations within a few hours of entering that day and add a day (or more) to your tickets.
That way the "system" will see that you DO have enough tickets to cover the number of days' FP+ that you have booked.
