We should be arriving at the HOJO around 12:30 p.m. (very rough estimate) and want to go to the parks. I assume that our room won't be ready but that we'll be able to store our luggage in a secure room? Would it be okay if we arrived with several grocery bags to store along with our suitcases? I assume we'd need to limit ourselves to non-perishables, since we're unlikely to have access to our room fridge. Is there info out there on what foods are available in the HOJO convenience store?

I will be following along as I could really use the answers to these questions as well! I was also trying to find out what toiletries are provided by the hotel so I know what I do not have to bother purchasing (shower gel, conditioner, etc.).

I have had 1-2 bags of non-perishable groceries to store with my luggage at check-in at Hojo on a number of occasions. Once years ago we had perishable medicine which they stored in their refrigerator for us. I don't know how much space they can offer for perishables though because we don't otherwise bring any.

My recollection of the toiletries provided in room: two bars of soap (one for face, one for body), one small bottle each of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. I can't remember the brand.

The last time I stayed there (Nov 2015), the Vons delivery arrived before we did. They had delivered our groceries to our room and put all items that needed to be in the refrigerator for us.

They do have a luggage check area to store your things until your room is ready. Like a PP mentioned, they probably don't have much refrigerator room for perishables though.

Thank you so much for this! I'm not picky on brand so just knowing what is included is helpful. I know sometimes though, the shampoo/conditioner is an all in 1 deal. I can use that type but I still need a separate conditioner as well since my hair is very long and tangles easily.

I would bring conditioner and use their other supplies in your case. Just to be safe. Most hotels in the area provide soap, shampoo, and lotion. You could also call and ask if they provide conditioner if you really don't want to bring your ow

I'm not sure about the HoJo for groceries, but the Tropicana has a decent assortment of groceries for sale. I was even able to purchase a carton of soy milk from the cafe inside. High prices but that goes without saying.

I'm not sure about groceries that you carry in yourself, but someone recently started a thread about Von's delivery and having something shipped and was told that they now charge $5 per package per day to store items. You may want to put as many of the groceries as possible inside the suitcases if there is an additional charge.

We are staying at HOJO and I called their convenience store to find out if they carry soy milk (which they do!). You could call to see if they have what you need. I would imagine that if they carry soy milk, they also carry regular dairy products.

When I last stayed there in Nov 2015, the store downstairs did sell 1/2 gallon milk jugs. I'm sure the price was high for milk, but it's not like you're shopping there all year. :)

The Hojo store has tons of stuff. You are definitely paying a premium for the convenience of course. There are various types and sizes of milk, juice, soda, bananas, apples, cereal, loaves of bread, jars of peanut butter, pats of butter, slices of cheese, cheese sticks, crackers, chips, nuts, and so on. Lots of over the counter medicines and toiletries available too if you forgot something.

Hi Everyone!

We will be happy to accept groceries! If it arrives before you arrive, we do try our best to place it in your room. This does depend on the time the room is ready. If there is anything that needs to be refrigerated, will refrigerate it for you. But please note that the fridge in the room is limited in what it can fit (a gallon of milk, a couple cans of soda, and small snacks). Our Gift Shop does sell a variety of food items, bread, milk, juice, snacks, even beer and wine.
