We are coming in Saturday 8/31. When I booked I was told I could add days onto the front end of or room only so we could visit the parks. Called back because they screwed up my dates and was told that couldn't be dine and I would have to buy 2 day passes. Big problem for 5 "adults". I don't have another 1500 budgeted for that. Can anyone offer suggestions? Or should I just tell my family that e just need to stay at the resort for two days? We are staying BC so we do have the pool. But 2 days? We do have Florida id's but that only takes off a little bit.

Oh. And to top it off, I get another email today with our date of departure now TWO days later than we are leaving. Totally not feeling this trip right now.

If you get the tickets with your package you can pick up your tickets up to, I think it's, three days before your package starts. We are arriving on 8/31 also but not planning on going to a park until Monday 9/2. We have an early reservation at CRT that morning so we want to get our tickets at DTD on Sunday instead.

This information is in the Ticket Stickie at the top of the forum:

I. Picking up Package Tickets Prior To Start Of Package

In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park or DTD Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up. (Note this cannot be done at a water park.)

It is only valid for people with packages at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort. You can be staying off-property at the time you pick up the tickets. Note that if you have a package which includes Dining, although you can pick up your tickets early you cannot get access to the Dining until you have actually checked in to your Resort.

Note that since August 2011 the Call Centers have been telling Guests this cannot be done. However it is still a valid procedure and can be done with no problem at Park Guest Relations Windows.

There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.

And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in.

I would suggest you copy down the following information if you are planning to upgrade promotional tickets. If the person in the window is hesitant to upgrade these promotional tickets, ask them go go into The Hub >> WDW >> Work >> Ticketing >> Processes & Business Rules >> Early Ticket Pickup For Resort Packages where they will see the procedure.

Thank you!!! I thought I had heard it done on here before but had acme check 4 times while on the phone with me and told me no. We are staying at the same resort. So if I go with 8 day myw park tickets, I can use them to get into parks 3 days before my package? I WILL be copying this info and taking it with me.

I will need to do this same thing on my up coming trip in November. You can go to guest relations in epcot to pick up your tickets ? When I check into por the next morning, will they reissue me new tickets with the fd attached? We're also thinking about adding a day onto our parkhopper. Would I add that day when we go to mk that morning and just pay the difference between a six day and seven day parkhopper?

yes you can pick them up at Epcot GR.

When you check in at POR the next morning they will issue your tickets back on your new KTTW cards minus whatever entitlements you used prior to that.

Add your day now to decrease confusion, but if you don't you just pay the difference when you do it. But if you booked under 'old' ticket prices for 6 day you will pay the new aka higher ticket price for the difference.

1. You can go to guest relations in epcot to pick up your tickets ?

2. When I check into por the next morning, will they reissue me new tickets with the fd attached?

3. We're also thinking about adding a day onto our parkhopper. Would I add that day when we go to mk that morning and just pay the difference between a six day and seven day parkhopper?

1. According to the ticket sticky, yes.

2. Quoted from the ticket sticky: "And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in." So you'll most likely have the KTTW card which will be used for getting into your room and for your dining credits, but then your tickets for the parks will be separate.

3. You can add the additional day at any time, just make sure you use the tickets first, then yes, you would only pay the difference between a 6 day and a 7 day ticket, which is $10 plus tax per ticket.

2. I know that's there but that is not actually the case. We did this Memorial Day 2013 so a few weeks ago and in Nov 2011. They automatically put our ticket entitlements back on the KTTW cards when we checked in, May at GF, Nov at POR. At POR it was a pain in the butt b/c DH and I didn't need the tickets (we are AP) we were saving them for the kids for the next trip so we then had to go have the MYW removed from KTTW cards again.

Siskaren and pirategirl thanks so much for the info. As far as paying the new price on the tickets that will probably happen anyway because I need to make some slight changes to my resort ress. I will probably wait to add the additional day so I can see how my mother can handle it. At 70 years old I don't know if she will want to go into the parks every day. This trip is going to be the death of me. I finally figured out how to get her (with scooter) from asmo to por without having to use the disney buses so early in the morning. We're arranging the mears van to pick us up at 8am so we can get to por in time to check-in,add the free dining and get to mk for breakfast. I wonder if they will let me take a nap on one of the park benches:rotfl:
