We arrive in December on a Friday at 4:30pm at MCO
Renting a car from agency onsite at MCO ~

How long by the time you get your luggage, rental car, drive...etc.
can I expect to hit POR?

I'm trying to determine what time to make dinner ressies our arriving nite! Thanks so much!

just because your flight is scheduled to arrive at 4:30PM doesn't mean that it actually will. I would pad my dinner time. If you get to POR early take a shower, relax at the bar and have a drink and then head to a later dinner PS.

I noticed you are from AZ, so don't forget about the time difference. 4:30 is EASTERN time. Will you be hungry for dinner considering the time difference? 7:30 is only 5:30 on your body clock. I think a 7:30PM dinner might be just the right time.

Thanks everyone! I had previously planned 7:30pm
So....looks like I'm right on target.

Especially since "prncess674" brought up the time difference situation! I'll be ready and rearing to eat by then!

THANKS!

when we arrived orlando and got our limo, our driver said to expect a 35 minute drive to disney.....that's with no traffic and no grocery stop. mco is excellent for luggage...meaning it's there waiting for you when you get to luggage pick-up (we go every year and have never had a problem with mco). we were kind of disappointed that the 35 minutes seemed more like 10 minutes!! oh well....we actually arrived at our resort BEFORE i expected and put us ahead of our itinerary!!! but, you are correct to give yourself plenty of time.....rather be waitin' around than run 2 minutes late!! have fun and say hi to Mick for us!!

Yes 2 to 2 1/2 hours should be enough time, although just about the time you get on the interstate it should be rush hour so it will take you awhile..........I4 can bet pretty snarled up but with your timeframe you should be OK. It's a great time of the year at Disney, just be prepared for warm, hot, cool and cold weather.........it can be pretty iffy then.

Take the south exit out of the airport to 417 south (Florida Greenway). You will avoid the I-4 traffic. Take exit 6 and go straight, it will take you right onto Disney Property.

I usually figure on 60 to 90 minutes. It takes time to get off the plane, out of the gate area, get to baggage claim, then wait for the luggage (I haven't had as great experiences as bubba's mom, probably depends on the airline). Then head to the rental car, if you have counter service you can expect a line there (I like National's Emerald Club to skip the counter), then on your way.

DebbieB has the right directions, don't get involved with I4 on a Friday at rush hour! Greenway all the way! A bargain at 2 x $1.00 tolls!

Just one small tip- DW always takes a hard side case, but packed light. I pack some of her stuff in my carry-on. When we get off the plane, I go straight to the rental car desk and get in line, she gets her wheeled bag off the luggage carousel. Usually, I have finished the paperwork by the time she meets me at the car counter. By that time, the line for the rental car is much longer.
