We started our travels to DW at 4am. That said, we decided to go to House of Blues for an early dinner. We hadn't had much to eat all day. So...after walking all the way down to that end, it was closed for a private engagement from 3pm for the whole night. Really? They couldn't have posted this with the sign saying the market place bus stops were shut down? We decided to go to Cooks of Dublin instead. They had strawberry shortcake and cupcakes on their menu, but your choice of dessert for dining plan was a chocolate chip cookie, a Dixie cup size soft serve ice cream or a mini cup of what looked like fruit cocktail. We ran into the MK to grab apple Charlotte for breakfast in our room, only reason we went to MK, now this is the one that breaks my heart, they no longer sell apple Charlott in the bakery. A cm called around and couldn't find any place that sells it anymore. It was a tradition for us, I guess another one bites the dust. I hope tomorrow goes better, although a rough day at DW beats a good day at work!

What a bummer! Sometimes things just happen that way. I bet tomorrow will be lots better :goodvibes.

Sorry you had such a crappy start to your trip....hopefully tomorrow will be much better....by your post it seems you are on the dining plan....just in case you don't know....House of Blues is not a Disney Restaurant and doesn't take the dining plan.....

Yes,we are on the plan. I have a restaurants.com certificate for $25. I was hoping to use this trip. I'll have to see where I can still fit it in, literally!;)

Sorry hate to ask but what is a "apple charlotte"?:goodvibes

I'd like to know too. Yooper sorry to hear about a rough start to your vakay.
I know what it's like when everyone is tired and hungry for a certain thing, and it's not pretty. Hope the rest of your trip is a blast:earsboy:

I'm sorry that the start of your trip didn't go as planned. Hopefully, tomorrow will be much better.

We left like that last August. We toured Epcot, went to Germany to get our favorite German chocolate cookies. None to be found. After dinner, we went marching into MK and they didn't have them either. They don't make those anymore. We were certainly able to find something else, but we had been looking forward to it.

At least Epcot still has gran marnier slushies......

Good luck!

HoB is now included on the DDP as of 2012. There is a sticky on the dining plan forum that will give you a link to the current plan.

It's Disney, it's going to get better. And this will give you a chance to try some new things and possibly start new traditions. I recommend School Bread from the bakery in Norway. We always get at least one to have for breakfast.

As of January 1, 2012, House of Blues DOES take the dining plan. Also, several other DTD restaurants that did not previously accept the dining plan.

I have been wanting to try the school bread for awhile, but hasn't been convenient, so was planning for sure to get some on our April trip - then I read on another thread that they had changed it and it was not nearly as good - wonder if this is really so. Anyone know? :sad2:

Darn! Well, we are going to be staying at YC, so I'm sure we can find a nice breakfast treat at the Boardwalk Bakery or something in France.

I've had the schoolbread both ways and its very good either way (in my opinion). It did used to be bigger and now has toasted coconut instead of regular coconut, but still delicious. Others may not agree, but you should still go try one and form your own opinion.

:thumbsup2 Thanks, I will.
