Arrive day of or day before?

guess I'm the only one that likes to live on the edge.... this thread may change my mind... I was planning flying (direct flight) from Buffalo on Saturday for the Eastern cruise... maybe I'll change to friday afternoon... the flight from BUF onm Saturday leaves at 6:30 AM and I live 3 hours from the Airport, so I'd have to pay for a hotel room anyway...

Well... I did just look and there is a 7PM NS flight from BUF to MCO... maybe I'll go for that... thnx

For all of my cruises (at least 7 at that point), I flew down on the day of the cruise. Usually a 7am flight with absolutely no problems (always got to the port very early and ended up sitting around for an hour or two). With our first DCL cruise in June, 2003, we flew in the same day and almost missed the ship because of flight problems.( Got to the port at 3:45). Needles to say, I will always fly in the night before from now on. I used to read these threads and snicker at people who just "had" to fly in the night before. Now I understand why.

We have done both. The last time our luggage was left in Indy and arrived 7 hours late. It could have been a disaster if that had been the "day of" flight.
We will always fly the day before because of that.

We've done both, but plan on doing the day before from now on.

We are in Chicago so anytime we've cruised in what could be bad weather months (February and December) we've flown in the day before. However when we flew in good weather months (May) we flew in the day of (Saturday). Problem is we'd get a 7 am flight out which means being up at 4 or 4:30 - makes a very tired first day on the cruise. From now on we're flying in the night before!
