Back to the original question, we are doing something similar in July. Flight gets in at 8 PM, so we're heading to an off-property hotel for one night before going over to BWV. We have AP's, so we could jump over to whichever park is having a late-night, or we could, and most likely will, just chill at the pool and hit the ground running the next AM.

We have stayed at the Hyatt several times, and wouldn't think of not doing it this way.

Our direct flight is a redeye. We book the "dayrate" when we arrive around 6 am. Sleep for four hours or so, shower, and we are ready to go.

Our return flight is early, so we spend the night there. So stress free. Can sleep an extra hour, don't have to worry about getting there in time. Love it!

Coming in the night before on a cash night at your DVC resort is also a good (however expensive) way to guarantee your room is yours on your entire first full day. No playing "Room Of Fourtune" all day long with the "Guaranteed after four" phone rep roulette. You also don't have to check-in first thing in the morning since you have already done it and it's one less pack/unpack situation to go through.

The only problem with this is getting "the leftover room".

Curious about what the "dayrate" is? I've looked at the redeye more now with rising flight costs. Do you have to call that hotel directly?

No--you don't prebook. It is based on availability (which I have found, and have heard they always have) When I was there a few weeks ago, it was $89 plus tax for a really nice room. You can ask for either a king or two queens. The bathrooms are wonderful. Very plush.
