We will be traveling to the World in early August with our 14(almost 15) year old daughter and her three bestest friends. (same age). I could use a little help choosing our arrival night dinner. We do not plan on going to a park on arrival day. Rope Drop the next morning.:surfweb:

Currently I am think....

Chef Mickey Dinner (have done breakfast several times but not dinner)
Whispering Canyon Cafe
1900 Park Fare Dinner
Planet Hollywood DTD

A penny for your thoughts.

I vote for California grill!!

Check the time for the wishes fireworks....see if you can get your reservation for either right before, or right after. They will love it. ;)

And the food is good.

Of the four you suggest, I would have to go with Chef Mickey's Dinner--even though we think the food and service has gone downhill. WCC has joined the short list of "never return to"; we've never done 1900 Park Fare and we don't like Planet Hollywood.

I agree with Chef Mickey's. You can't beat having dinner with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto your first night.

Have you considered DTD? They have a bunch of great restaurants and I think the girls would like it. There is also shoppping to occupy them!

9 resissies were at 9pm, we just got our dessert when wishes started and we could see from out table. The food was real good, the waiter was fantastic

Dotto, I ate dinner there Christmas Eve of 2009 ressies were at 9pm dessert just got that a few minutes before 10 and wishs cam on at 10, what a few from our table

Last June we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Our girls were 4 and 8. We enjoyed it, but there was a table of teenagers near us that had a blast! The characters spent alot of time with them. The stepdaughters were great and were flirting and having a good time with the tables. It was all in good fun at fun for otheres to watch as well. It seems to be a good character dining for the age you are taking. However, the down side (to us) was that the food was not very good. That was our opinion and am sure many others would disagree. For the atmosphere and characters they may love it. My 8 year old loved Planet Hollywood too. All the memoribilia was cool. We have yet to try Chef Mickeys. On our first night we did Cape May Cafe Clam bake. We then walked on the beach and over to the Boardwalk. We still talk about that being a favorite. Hope this helps!:)

Cm sounds like fun w the girls to get into the spirit. Plus if anyone is picky there is many choices

Chef Mickeys is definitely a fun place to go for arrival night. 1900 park fare was not crazy about the food and believe me im not a picky person. I did however enjoy the soft serve ice cream there at least. Ohana is another great place to consider

I was trying to talk my teens (dd turning 16 in WDW, ds 13) into trying 1900 Park Fare on our first night, but they both insisted on Chef Mickey's. My other choices would be 'Ohana and California Grill, which we are doing on different nights, CG on the actual birthday...but I do think PF would be a great choice for girls that age!
