Arrival night dinner for DS9 outside parks?

My DS9 and I are arriving early evening and would like a character meal outside the parks so we don't have to waste a day off our hopper passes just for a meal. It doesn't actually need to be a character meal, just something special to start off a fun trip. I was thinking about doing O'Hanas, Whispering Canyon or maybe Chef Mickey's. I've heard you can go outside after dinner at Chef Mickey's and watch the fireworks over MK. Also, is there a fireworks show that you can see from O'hanas?

Which would you chose for a 9 yr old boy or would you suggest another restaurant?

When DS was 9 Oct 01 we went to Chef Mickey's dinner
When plans got rearranged Nov/Dec 02 DS asked to return to Chef Mickey's so we got in on a 2day notice
This time DS is asking again for Chef Mickey's - told him they have char brkfst too but he wants dinner again

In 02 we got in O'Hana's on a day notice and very much enjoyed it. DH wants to go back again this Oct

Yes you can see the MK from both the top of the Contemp and from the Poly

We always do 'Ohana for dinner on arrival day. After, you can see the fireworks from the beach.
