We are choosing to go to MK on our mid-August arrival night at Disney, since we will not be going to a park until after an early dinner. I think we will get to MK gates around 6:30, maybe 7:00.

We will be having a second morning at MK, with an 8:00 am Crystal Palace - so we will even have a jump on the rope drop crowd that day. And going back on EMH night.

On that first night, we are going to get a FP+ for SDMT when it's dark out.

We definitely want to do Jungle Cruise in the dark since it's so much better that way!!! I plan on getting a FP for that since I see that waits can be long for that at night.

What else should I FP?? Particularly, to start the night out in the 7 to 8 window? Don't do Astro. Love Peter Pan, but we will be going on that during rope drop morning (I would ride this multiple times left to my own planning).

Park closes at midnight - and we will be closing it down. Group of 8 - 4 college kids and both sets of parents - mountain lovers.

Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain.

Also, just to warn you, Disney has a habit of changing park open to 8 am fairly often. So I wouldn't be to dependent on getting ahead of the rope drop crowd on your early MK day.

You assume that you will be able to be on-time for your Park arrival. If traveling by plane, that is a real wildcard. I'd schedule my arrival day FP+ as late as possible.

You also need to look at the Parade & Fireworks times because they can impact your ability to get from one end of Magic Kingdom to another. If your avoiding Parades/Fireworks, you can ride an 'extra' favorite or two while most people attend the entertainment events.

Are you avoiding thrill rides?

I think the three Mountains - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (better thrill), Splash Mountain (longer ride), Space Mountain (everyone should go see movie TomorrowLand) - are better than 7 Dwarfs for college-aged and older.

I will most likely go to the park with a FP+ for Peter Pan and SDMT. If they change the opening time on us, we will probably cancel CP breakfast since the main reason for it is photos on an empty (or almost) Main Street. :(

We actually land in the morning, the afternoon will spent at the hotel pool and 4:30 dinner before going to MK.

We'll definitely be taking advantage of the parades and the subsequent less-crowded ride lines.

Nope, no avoidance of thrill rides - we all love them and must ride them multiple times each trip. The latter part of the night will definitely be spent on them - and EMH later in the week. :car:

7 Dwarfs was actually requested by the college girls - they all were there 2 years ago while it was being built. And they want the ride video.

Well informed decisions. Excellent.

Peter Pan has an interactive queue that gets skipped utilizing FP+ and makes this is a ride for consideration at rope drop.

We got to the MK around 5 PM the day we arrived. Since were concerned with travel issues we made FPs later in the day. The last one was for BTMRR. I think it is much better in the dark and I like to see the dancing and shooting going on.
