We arrive Dec 5th. We usually don't have an ADR for the first night b/c we go to MK and walk around and then eat a CS or go back to the resort and order room service. Dec 5th is the taping of the Christmas parade in MK so we will not be going to that park. We are thinking of going to HS or Epcot and I have Yachtman Steakhouse but now rethinking if I should try something else. We never ate at Yachtman and I'm going back and forth. Should we just eat in the park? Any suggestions for first night dinner? Thank you

Where will you be staying? If you will be in one of the Epcot area resorts I would stick with the idea of the Yachtsman. We have not eaten there yet but have an ADR there for the last night of our upcoming trip. From the reviews I've read it should be a delicious ending to our trip.

No matter what you choose to do... I would book an ADR now! Things are so booked for that first week or two of December and people are having a hard time getting into anything. And if they are taping the parade that day it will be a busy busy day!! :santa: Good luck!

I have eaten here twice and loved it both times.

This is one of those places that has really good appetizers and sides, that can make their own meal.

One year, I got an appetizer and two side, so I could eat their dessert.....it was a trio of chocolate that was fabulous.

The second year, I got the 8 oz. filet mignon - I ate about half of it and thinly sliced the rest of it and had it to go. I ate it cold about midnight and it was like candy.

You will love it!

I booked CR but the hubby does not know yet. He knows I been wanting to go around this time. I usually ask him this questions. I thought go to Epcot or HS and then take a boat and see the resort decoration too.

If you are staying at the CR why not try the Wave? It gets mixed reviews but we ate there on our last trip and I really really liked it! :confused3

I have an ADR for 7 but I'm seconding guessing myself with this ADR. Not sure if I should just eat in the park (we might be in HS or Epcot) but I thought we can take the boat and then see the resort decoration.

Thank you, one of the reason I did book this ADR was b/c of the appetizers. We have deluxe dinning so looking forward of the appetizers and desserts.
Thank you again for your opinion ;)

You are so welcome! I read your mind. I forgot to mention there is a boat that goes from DHS to BC/YC/BWI/Swan/Dolphin and back again. I stayed at the Dolphin one year; it would be a nice ride at the end of your dinner.

I happened to stay at the Dolphin one year and I happened to be on the boat just as the Illuminations was happening - it makes me tear up just thinking about it!

We stayed at the Swan last year and I loved it...it was a better stay than AKL. It was so easy going to 2 parks and loved that you can walk or take the boat. I was actually planning to stay at the Swan for the December trip until they offered the free dinning and got a good price for CR and upgrade to deluxe and the pricing was so close to staying at the Swan. I actually priced it cheaper than WL since we are staying at the CR garden view. Thank you again
