We will be arriving in Orlando on a Sunday, and plan to spend that first day at the pool just relaxing. I'll be making ADR's for restaurants in the parks for the remainder of our trip, but I'm looking for a recommendation for our first dinner, something relaxed and fun to get us in the vacation mode! On or off-property, doesn't matter. Last trip we did Ohana, and it was great; I'm tempted to just do it again, but I was wondering what else was out there.

We have kids (7 and 4) and we eat just about anything. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions! :cool1:

we love 1900 park fare for dinner. The stepsisters and step mother are HYSTERICAL!

We always start off the arrival the same - no parks but want something Disney to get us in the mood. To us, that means a character meal. So we either kick off with 1900 PF or Chef Mickey's. Some are pretty critical about the food quality at either of these, but we're pretty easy to please people and can get by with these restaurants. We're really there for the characters and good time anyway.

Yeah we are going with 'Ohana. I think ANYTHING at a resort that you want to try would be good. That's what we are doing. I'm scared if we go to a park I"ll never get them OUT of the park to go eat! :lmao:

For our arrival, were going with Ohana, right at the time that Wishes happens to be going on! Our favorite restaraunt with a preview of whats to come! :goodvibes

We did 1900PF, my grand daughter loves the Princesses. It was a great way to start off the trip!

That is exactly what we are doing on our arrival night. It is our first time eating here and we are very excited, love the stepmother and step sisters :rotfl2: After dinner we plan on taking the monorail around so we can get a glimpse of Cinderella's Castle (especially at night :cloud9:) and then head over to Poly beach to watch Wishes....Cannot wait :goodvibes

We are doing Whispering Canyon for our arrival evening. We've never eaten at one of the resort restaurants (any of us...and this is our first family trip--dh and I have both been prior to meeting one another but not since) or even making reservations for any of the restaurants in the parks. So read, asked for advice, and finally decided on WCC

We don't like to have to do an ADR for our arrival night. We always head downtown and have fish and chips at Cookes of Dublin or Raglan Road, depending on the time of our arrival.

We are staying at POR and decided it would be the perfect time to eat right at the resort at Boatwrights.
Don't want to do too much traveling around after a long day of traveling to wdw. Plenty of time to rush around the rest of our vacation.

Rainforest or T-Rexx in DTD might be a good option. After dinner you could walk around, shop, visit Goofy's Candy Co, or watch the new hotair balloon.
