Arrival Day Plans???

A lot of times once we get unpacked and settled (if our room is ready) we head to MK. We hop on the resort monorail and visit each of the 3 MK resorts for a bit, then jump on the Epcot monorail and ride over and back without getting off. (That monorail goes through part of EPCOT.) It's a nice relaxing way to get excited about our next full day! :)

We typically have about 4-5 days so we start at DTD then hit the parks first thing the next morning. This time we have 7 days so we are probably going to check in, grab some lunch and then hit a park for a little bit.

We'll be arriving at Orlando around 10:30 am on our arrival day. So we'll most likely try to get checked in (at least get our free DP) and head over to DD for my favorite counter service, Earl of Sandwich.

When our room is ready I can see us relaxing at the pool for a bit, then we'll either head into MK for a few hours or just head straight to the Poly in anticipation of our Ohana reservation (which isn't until 9 pm).

We arrive around the same time with our 5 and 16 month old so it will be up to how they handle the traveling. At most we will do dinner at DTD although we will probably just lounge around, get settled and order room service.

We usually arrive around 2 pm, so we check in, relax in our room a bit and then head to DTD for dinner and a little shopping. We leave early in the morning, so we try to make it an early night so we're rested for rope drop the next day.

What's so bad about doing TS on arrival day? That doesn't make sense to me....

In any case, we arrive around noon and we will pick up our car. We will try to check in if possible (we stay off site) and then will go shopping a little. Pick up some groceries and whatever else interests us. :)

Then we have reservations at Boma in the evening. After that we will go over to Poly and watch fireworks from the beach and just check out the resort a little. We are going with another couple who has never really been so they will want to look around. I'll probably get a Dole Whip too. :teeth:

I love the first day. Still so much anticipation, but the whole trip is still ahead of you. It all goes by so fast. It's the last day I hate....

I think the most wonderful thing to 'plan' on arrival is just relax, go with the flow and see what everyone 'feels' like doing.

Sometimes we grab lunch at WL, chill at the pool and head over to MK. Other times we have dropped our luggage, immediately caught the boat to MK, not coming back till park close. It just depends on how we feel on arrival day.

Next trip, we are taking the first flight out (5:30 a.m. I believe), will arrive at WL while OFC breakfast offerings are still available (DS wish ;) ) and then we'll go from there.

:flower3:

On the 28th September 2O12 we will be arriving in Florida, Kissimee at 2:30pm but probably won't get to the villa till 3:30pm or whenever and we are just gonna drop are bags off, sort rooms out & then we will be making are way to the walmart to get food for the afternoon (obviously you need food!!) & whatever else, just chill in the pool or jacuzzi with music, save are energy for the fun filled day the next day (:

This year our plane lands are 2...I'm hoping to be at the resort by 3:30 and since we're staying at Art of Animation, I want to check out the resort for a while.

Then well head to Epcot for our ADR at Le Cellier and try to hit a few rides before an early bedtime!

Our plane lands at 9:45am so I'm hoping to be done with check in by noon. The plan is to head to Downtown Disney, eat lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express, and spend a few hours at DisneyQuest. My boyfriend is an amateur digital sculptur (he makes 3D characters/people and is working on starting his own video game development company at the moment) and a gaming addict. This is his first ever trip to Disney so I really want him to fall in love with it!

After playing around at DisneyQuest for a few hours we plan to head over to EPCOT for dinner at Les Chefs, a little drinking around the world (probably only a country or two) and then extra magic hours until midnight.

It's a packed day, but we are a young childless couple and that's how we do theme parks :)

How much time should i allow from when the plane is expected to land to when we would arrive at the resort? (really unsure of traffic, the Orlando airport, etc.)

TIA!

We usually get in around the same time as you, OP.

We start off by taking an nap. Then we wander around the resort. Usually by the time we get back to our room ME has delivered our luggage and we unpack. Then a nice dinner at the resort, and we end the day with some time at the pool.

We find its really pleasant to just let the magic slowly take over.

We land at around 5pm (although this trip we're landing at 3) so don't get out of the airport before 7pm and fly internationally from England so are always exhausted and can't do much more then dinner, a quick trip to Walmart, a shower and bed!

These are all really good ideas. We land at noon, and I didnt want to 'waste' a park ticket for a 1/2 day. Looks like shopping at DTD!

We plan to arrive between 10am and noon (driving from Philadelphia, PA). Our plan is to check in (doing online chick in so hoping our room is ready) get showers, rest up a bit. Possibly resort hop a bit before or after our TS ADR at Raglan Rd. my goal is to see most if not all the resort decorations before we hit the MVMCP the second night.

We always take the first flight out, and since it is less than a 2 hr flight, we arrive very early between 8-9am. We have always checked in, sometimes the room is ready and sometimes it is not, either way we will get grab a bite to eat at the food court and then head out to a park.. either MK or Epcot and then come back to find our room and unpack somethings, and I usually head out again for park closing. I sleep like a rock the first night from not sleeping the night before and being up wayyyy early and running all over the place in excitement.

Depending how long you're staying, some people relax the first day and some go commando like me and hit the parks right away. Either way, enjoy your trip!!!

Our flight lands at 9:25, we're thinking we'll get to POR 11-11:30ish(?). We plan to drop our bags off and head to whichever water park DS chooses for a few hours. Head to our room, change, then head to Chef Mickey's after playing some arcade games before our 7:30 ADR. :goodvibes

For kids you can always book a character dinner at one of the hotel restaurants so you start the feel of the trip but take it easy for the afternoon.

I like DTD or just visiting other hotels to still have the feel but not waste a days ticket.

We normally land from Machester Airport around 4PM and go to the Hotel do the shopping for the essentials ... Mountain Dew and Lucky Charms (we dont get these in the UK):rotfl2:
then head to Papa Johns for a couple of large pizzas followed by an early night so we are up in the morning and fresh for the parks!

Id love to go to the parks or to DTD for a walk about but after the 2am get up and 9 hour plane journey we really dont have the energy :goodvibes

We will be landing around 11:30 and hoping to make it to Epcot by around 2:00 so we can 7 hours in the park. We had planned on just doing DTD but added a 10th day on our passes so we could enjoy half a day for just a little bit more
