I was hit in my new (to us) car in the school parking lot today. I was so furious! Some guy with a U Haul truck was turning out of his spot and just tore my front end off. I was right there, not in my car yet but the kids were. I was yelling and screaming.....I had already told him I'd get out of his way. I called the police immediately. She took a report but didn't issue any tickets. I know nobody was hurt but it was my NEW car and now we have to get it fixed. PLUS the insurance companies will fight it out. There is no doubt whose fault it was but I'm sure there will e glitches.

Is it a private school, they cant issue tickets on private property

Public school. Police officer mentioned something about me not being in the vehicle and the car being parked.

OHHHH!! I hate that!! People behind the wheel seem to have absolutely no patience. Hopefully there will be little to no fighting over who pays...it's not like you were in the car!! But the police officers excuse for not writing a ticket seems a little fishy to me.

I feel for you! DH got rear ended this week in his brand new car, 2.7 miles from the dealer. Its take some of the fun out of the car when you have to deal with an accident soon after getting it. I have my fingers crossed for you the insurance process will be an easy one!
