Hi - just got back from Disney yesterday and felt I should 'pay it forward' with a dining review, since I read so many as we were planning our trip. Our group included: Jill (DW34); Jeff (DH33); Joe (DF67); Mike (DB31) and Maggie (DD5). We had a wonderful time and had some great food as well - hope you find this report helpful!

DAY 1: Day of arrival

We arrived at our hotel around 3pm and immediately decided to head to MK for a few rides before dinner. We hadn't had any lunch, but decided just to snack before dinner. DH and DF had a hot dog from one of the CS's on Main Street and said they were good. DD and I split a Churro and pretzel from a cart in Fantasyland - yummy!

That night we had dinner at Citrico's in the Grand Floridian. Our ADR was for 7:50pm and we had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated. The restaurant was very full and pretty loud as well. We had a great server named Daniel - he was amazingly sweet to our DD and did lots of little extras for her throughout the meal. However, he was terribly overworked with too many tables, and thus service was very slow. DH, DB and DF had the romaine salad and said it was pretty good. I had the warm goat cheese salad and thought it was wonderful. For entrees - DB, DH and I had the Filet Sicilian with the Quattro Formaggio Potatoes (you had me at 4 cheese, ha!). I found my steak to be overdone - I ordered Med Well and it was def Well Done. However, like I said, service was so slow, that I didn't dare send it back to the kitchen. The steak was ok, but honestly, I have had better at Longhorn. My DH ordered his med and got his med well - so I guess the advice here is to order it rarer than you usually do. My DF ordered the chicken and said his was very good. My DD ordered the petit filet from the kids menu. Hers was very well done too - but she ate most of it and said it was good. I did think the kid's portions were pretty large - so two small kids could prob share one kids meal. For dessert, Daniel brought DD her own chocolate crown - just to be nice. We all shared the chocolate banana torte (?) , tiramisu, and creme brulee - the desserts were awesome!! To top it all off, Daniel brought DD a bag filled with stickers and mickey head straws!

I think I would try Citricos again - just not during peak hours and I would order my steak med if I wanted med well.

Stay tuned for Day 2 - Princess Breakfast in Norway, CS for lunch in Epcot (can't think of the name of it right now) and Les Chefs for dinner!

Keep 'em coming Jill72! I love how many details you have in your report so far.

Hi from another Missourian (and another 72) by the way! :wave2:

Ok, so on Day 2 we wake up early to make our 8:50am ADR in Norway for the Princess Breakfast.princess: We arrived right on time and were taken to meet Belle within 5 minutes. The staff immediately treat DD5 like a princess and give her the royal treatment - so cute! First stop on your way to your table is to meet Belle, get an autograph and have your picture taken. They do have someone on hand to do the photopass thing with Belle (but this is the only princess at this meal where photopass is involved). Next we were taken to our table and a waitress promptly came to introduce herself, pour drinks and explain how things work. We were encouraged to go up to a small buffet which included some scary looking goat cheese, salami, cut up fruit, and an assortment of danishes, croissants and biscuits. As we returned from the buffet we were brought a family style platter of sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and hash brown casserole. After about 15 minutes or so, the princesses all made the rounds and would stop at each table for autographs and photos. During our meal, we got to meet Jasmine, Snow White, Mulan and Aurora. The princesses were so friendly and took time to chat a little with each table - I really did not feel like they were rushing through things at all. I can't stress enough how well organized this restaurant is. Everything occured very promptly and the service was great. The buffet food was so-so...but I thought the family style food that was brought to the table was pretty good - especially the eggs and sausage. I definitely felt we got our money's worth and I would do this character meal again in a heartbeat. Also -for those Moms who worry about these things - just to let you know, most of the girls here were not in full princess costume. My DD came in a cute Cinderella tank top and she felt very comfortable with what she wore. So all in all - we give this two thumbs up!

For lunch, we hit Sunshine Seasons CS in The Land. This is basically a small food court area with several different CS's to choose from. DB chose a roasted chicken plate that had rice and mashed potatoes I think. It was huge and he ate every bit and said it was very good. My DF wasn't too hungry, so he chose some keylime pie which he said was good. My DH went to the sandwich counter and got the Black Forest Ham sandwich - which he said was just OK. I went to the salad station and got a goat cheese (are you noticing a goat cheese trend here?) and beet salad which was really fresh, light and yummy! My DD went to the same station and got a kids meal with mac-n-cheese, applesauce and grapes, I think. She ate it all up and said it was good. If you are in the Future World part of Epcot - this is a good choice as there is a good variety for everyone. And I would eat that salad again!

For dinner we ate at Les Chefs in the World Showcase. Now we ate at Bistro (upstairs from Les Chefs) back in 99 and loved it! So I was expecting something very similar to Bistro......and sadly, Bistro and Les Chefs are very different. Les Chefs is very casual, crowded and loud! I can't stress enough how crammed in there the tables are - it's impossible not to hear the neighboring tables' conversations. We had 6:30pm ADR's and had to wait about 20 minutes or so to be seated. Our waiter was nice, but extremely busy and thus service was a little lacking (on refills and such). We started off with the flatbread appetizer, ours was the Alsace special, and it was very tasty. My DH didn't like it as much as I did - but I really liked it. Then we all had the Salad Maison - which was good, nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either. I then had the baked macaroni - which I thought was good. Not great, but good. DB, DH, and DF all had the steak - and they all thought it was just ok. DD fell asleep during dinner and thus didn't eat. DF got the creme brulee for dessert and I tasted it. It was good - but I've had much better and in fact, the one the night before at Citricos was much, much better than this one. To wrap things up, the waiter added about $30 extra to our bill with drinks we didn't order, etc. But the manager was very nice and cleared things up very quickly.

So - to sum things up. I would def recommend highly the Princess Breakfast in Norway if you are looking for a character meal. Sunshine Seasons is a good choice for a CS in Epcot and I would skip Les Chefs. I would get ADR's for Bistro instead if you are wanting French food. Like I said, we were there in '99 and it was our favorite meal of that trip!

Next up: Main Street Bakery; Columbia Harbour House and Contemporary Food Court

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Princess Breakfast princess: we will be doing that in about a month. Great reviews keep them coming please

Nice reviews so far. And thanks for including CS places. We aren't planning any of the TS places you've reviewed so far, but it's good read anyway and since we have no idea on CS options yet, those reviews will be helpful.

Great reviews esp. Le Chefs. I have been wanting to try it but may skip now.

Thanks for all the great comments! I'm glad some of you are finding these helpful....especially the CS ones....I debated about including those, b/c most people don't....but now I'm glad I did.

To Wilma-bride: Yes, I would skip Les Chefs if you can find something better. Try to get Le Cellier or Bistro if you want a nice Epcot TS meal. However, if you can't get something else and go in knowing Les Chefs is loud, crowded and casual - then maybe you will enjoy it more than I did. I went in expecting Bistro with a kids menu and thus was disappointed.

oh dear....I just added Chefs to our trip....haven't dined there since I was a young girl.
