Hello Everybody in Disboards-land! :wave2:

Welcome to my family’s trip report. This will be our first on site visit as a family – what can I say, I stayed on property and there is nothing like it. I booked this trip well before free dining came into play, in fact, I booked it when airfare out of Owensboro, KY dropped to well under $300 for my family of 3 ($49 r/t). Yeah, it bites that we aren’t flying into MCO, but I will get over it this time. Our trip will be 9/2-9/12 and we are going to stay at CBR. On top of this, I recently upgraded to the DxDP. :rolleyes1 Again, this wasn’t in the plan either until earlier this week. I originally wanted this trip to be a surprise, but I let the cat out of the bag. Oh well!

Our World Travelers:

The Pirate – aka Ryan – Ry for short and answers to Bubby (or Thomas when he is in trouble). He’s my baby boy. We are visiting the world just after his 11th birthday. He loves sports and plays basketball, baseball, and football. Currently, he is a lineman on his team with the local junior football league. On top of this, he is just a few inches shorter than me. Insane! When did this happen?!? I wear thick shoes or heels to compensate. He isn’t afraid to try new foods or unusual foods that most kids don’t like (loves beets). He would eat sushi and seafood every day if I let him. His favorite rides include Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and Test Track. In fact, he rode TM several times in a row while Taylor and I rode Splash.

The Princess – aka Taylor and answers to Sissy. My little angel. I knew she was a girl from the start. I had no doubt at all. She turned 6 this summer and we celebrated her 5th at the World last year. She also loves sports. She has played basketball and T-ball. She can be a tom boy and then a girly girl in the same breath. She enjoys picking on her brother. A few nights ago, we were watching Cake Boss and she told me that she wanted to get Ryan a pink birthday cake so he would yell at her. I hear this is normal sibling stuff. She is a picky eater, but nothing like she used to be. Baby steps! I told her that she had to try new foods when we get to the World (a bite from my plate here and there or a new food from a buffet). Her favorite rides include HM, TT, & the Monorail.

The Chauffeur – aka Amiee, EE, and Mom. That’s me! I earned the nickname EE from a client at work. I worked on a project with an Amy and it was easier for the client to let us know who they were talking about. Well, that was a while ago and it has stuck. I’m a single mom and admit that my kids help me get through the tough emotional times. Luckily, the rough times aren’t very frequent anymore. I enjoy taking my kids to their various events around town (and spur of the moment out of town visits). Recently, I was able to break in my new camera with a trip to Indy. In March, I finished my first half marathon at Disney with a great group of ladies that I met on the board. I jog so that I can eat - champagne dreams and caviar wishes. HM is a multiple time must do for me and I love Pirates! In fact, it’s my ring tone.

Our Worldly Dining Destinations:

Did somebody say DxDP PTR?!?

Disclaimer: Our destinations require travel of some kind at the world – monorail, walking, time machine, etc.

9/2 – We will arrive late at CBR and then make our way to have a Taste of Africa. Initially, I had planned to just have apps, but we are having dinner thanks to the upgrade.

9/3 – I had a spur of the moment idea to check in with Cindy to see if we could join her for breakfast. Well, she got back with me Wednesday and said yes she had a cancellation. My travel agent set up the arrangements right away and the date was set. On top of this, we will dine with Mickey and his friends for dinner.

9/4 – We will make our way to Canada for lunch. Hum, steak sounds good. Maybe some cheese soup too. For dinner, we will have a long trip to California. I bet we will have some sushi.

9/5 – Lunch requires a trip back in time to visit a few aunts, uncles, and cousins in the 50’s. For dinner, we will return to the land of happily ever after for a royal banquet in Norway.

9/6 – Off to the Rhineland we go for lunch with a DIS friend and her hubby. Kartoffelsalat anyone? From Europe, we head back to the wilderness in the Pacific Northwest for dinner

9/7 – Surf’s up! We will have a totally tubular time for a healthy and early breakfast. For lunch, we will travel to the land of the Eiffel Tower and say hello to Remy. We plan to hoop it with dinner and a show, but might decide to have surf and turf at the Grand Floridian.

9/8 – Tigger, Eeyore, Piglett, and Pooh! We are going to have breakfast with you! Later in the afternoon, we will return to Colonial times for lunch. I heard they make great vinaigrette. For dinner, we will jump back to this era and make our way back to Africa for some Zebra Domes late in the day.

9/9 – Ah! Such a special day for me. It was my baby boy’s due date – 9/9/99. He came a few days early (thanks so much, the heat was miserable!). We are visiting MK to become pirates ~ all 3 of us! Yes, me too! Once that transformation takes place, we will head back to the wilderness and into the Wild West for some zany antics for lunch. For dinner, we will learn how to say Aloha and maybe see a coconut race.

9/10 – For lunch, we will make our way to the land of the Samurai. They have some great knife skills! Later that evening, we will cast our reel around the Boardwalk.

9/11 – So sad, our last full day. To end our trip, we are doing things Hollywood style for lunch. Maybe, Mr. Cobb will share his salad recipe. To be a Hollywood leading lady in the golden age! Must have been something. For dinner, we might find our way to an Irish Pub.

9/12 – we might catch some more waves for breakfast or us this credit the night before for an additional California experience.

Touring Plans:

So far our touring plans are very basic. We will have park hoppers, so traveling isn’t a problem.

I hope you will follow along with us during our journey!

Arrival Night
Day 1

Did somebody say DxDP PTR?!?

I'm telling ya! Lunch is such a let down after studying WDW menus.

I would love to say I just had a gourmet sandwich for a Paris Deli, but
I went to Jimmy Johns instead:rotfl2:

Cant wait to hear more from your report

Day 0 - Arrival Night:

We are scheduled to arrive at Orlando/Sanford about 7:30 on 9/2. :cool1: Hopefully, car rental check in will go quickly. My plan is to stop for a case of bottled water on the way into Orlando. It's about an hour drive to CBR from Sanford. Once we check in, we will be off again for our world travels. In March, my plan was to pamper myself with a dinner that was out of the norm. Evansville isn't a small town by any means, but it lack Disney dining experiences. :rolleyes1 I had such a wonderful time at Jiko (solo dining!) that I decided that Jiko was going to be a arrival tradition in some fashion. Our ADR is at 9:30, so I hope I have given us plenty of time.

I promised the kids a quick swim before bed, so we will hit the pool after dinner. I don't have many WDW pics to share yet, but I do have a few.

Here are a few of the main pool at CBR:

I can't believe that I didn't take a pic of the hot tub! It felt wonderful after a very long weekend.

Day 1

Day 1 brings us to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Last week, I grew a wild hair (or drank some toxic Kool-Aid) and looked for an ADR at CRT. Low and behold, one was available for breakfast at 9:20. My TA was very fast and booked it right away for us. At that time, I found myself in a quandry. I had already planned for OOP app's at Jiko and HDDR also OOP. The difference between DDP and DxDP was around $125, so we upgraded.

Now, I find myself trying to plan out the morning. I hope to make it to rope drop by 8:30. We might try to enter the ADR gate early to check in to CRT a little early. I'm going to send Ryan for PP or SM FP's since he is quick. We don't really do much at all in Fantasyland, so the late start to Fantasyland is ok. We usually hit PP, Philharmagic, and IASW (but it's going to be under rehab). Sometimes we hit the teacups.

Once breakfast is over, our FP window should be open and we will grab FP from another ride (Buzz, PP, SM, BTM). Once we get a 2nd set of FP's, we will work our way through Tomorrowland (CoP, TTA, Buzz, and SM) are favorites. The kids will beg me to go on the Tomorrowland Raceway, but I plan to avoid it until evening. :rolleyes1

Next we will head toward my favorite ride - Haunted Mansion! The kids were terrified when I told them we were riding it last year, but then something crazy happened. We rode is over and over several times in a row last year. I bet 20 times the entire trip. One CM called them by name, lol. Once HM is under our belt, we might head to HoP. We have never been through it. It might be a nice way to cool down.

One thing I should mention before going further is that I always get a FP as soon as my window is open. We will head to whichever FP return line is the earliest. I tried to hold on to some FP for evening rides just in case we hit long lines. Once we finish with LS, we will cut over to Adventureland and grab a FP for JC. Ryan can recite the entire cruise almost verbatim. We will hit up PotC at least twice and the Tiki Room.

Before we head back to the resort for a nap, we will hop over to Epcot to grab some FP for later. At the very least, I would like to get FP for Soarin. We are only going to go on rides if we can wait a little while for a 2nd FP window to open. We love riding TT, but usually go on the single rider line for it (yes, even my girl will ride it by herself).

So, at this point, I picture us going back to the resort for a swim or nap and then we will head to Chef Mickey's for our evening ADR. After we finish up with Mickey, we head back to the MK and use our FP then hop to Epcot. Hopefully, we will grab a FP for Soarin or TT again and then make our way to walk around the WS. I expect to buy a margarita on the way. As we walk around WS, I thought the kids could take up some character hunting along the way while I enjoy some more adult beverages. Once we take in the sites and snap a few pics, we will head back to FW to play. I'm going to let the kids determine when we leave. If they get tired and cranky, we will leave early. If they can take some more, then we will do a little more.

ETA - I'm planning on us using some snack credits in Epcot tonight, especially France.

ETA #2: I grew a second wild hair when a certain blue eyed girl looked up at me after getting our Mickey Mail to say that she would love to have her hair done at BBB like last year. Seriously!?! This is after she told me that she didn't want to go there again because of how tight the do's are. Had some serious pixie dust sprinkled on my head. Friday night, I called the style line to see if there was a snowball's chance of an opening less than a month away. Insane stroke of luck they had an 8:10 appointment. We have to arrive 15 mins before our ressie, so that means we will be walking in the MK around 7:45 am. I will have some people-free pics of the castle!!

Given that our plane is on time, we will be checking in to CBR exactly 3 weeks from right now. :cool1:

Day 2 Plans

Since DHS has EMH's, I am hoping the crowds at Epcot will be somewhat light in the AM. My plan is to FP Soarin' then head to Test Track. We will either wait in line and ride together or hit the single rider line. Who knows, we might even do both. :thumbsup2 Since the biggies are out of the way, we will hit the other attractions - Innoventions, Ellen's Energy Adventure (if time allows), Imagination, Nemo, and Spaceship Earth. We will save The Land for our Soarin return time. I'm not really a fan of Mission Space, but if the kids want to go on it then we will. I guess, lol.

I hope to fit in one pass before our LeCellier ADR for lunch. After lunch, we will either make another pass through our fav's or head to the MK to pick up FP's for the evening and visit short line attractions.

Dinner is at Cali Grill, so we will spend the evening at MK. We won't have real touring plans here other than utilize our FP's. I'm thinking we might visit the attractions that don't seem to get much love.

What can I say? I have waited entirely too long to start on my TR and Dining report, but I'm back and ready to go.

We had a fabulous trip and can now say that I expect to visit Orlando one day and decide to stay. I hit the door running at work after my half day and raced home to meet up with my ex (our airport chauffeur) to pick up the kids and head to Owensboro for our flight. We flew Allegiant and loved it. Yes, they do fly into Sanford, but I wanted a rental anyway. The 3 of us flew for under $250 total. It would have been less, but I just had to pay for preferred storage. I will know not to do that next time. This was the kids first plane ride too!

Can you tell they are excited?

The Owensboro airport is in the middle of corn and soybean fields, but it is very easy to navigate. It only services Allegiant and has 1 gate. The flight arrived over 30 minutes ahead of schedule.

I did learn that I will not fly with as much luggage and carry ons as I did ever again. Instead, I will do laundry. Packing all of that was a chore! This Chauffeur was loaded down. The Pirate and the Princess were wonderful (carried as much as they could). We arrived at the Hertz counter and raced to CBR! As soon as we entered Disney property, I started tearing up and it was worse when I heard my first 'Welcome Home!'. I did use online check in and I highly recommend it for everybody. I did add my credit card to charge with the room key.

We stayed in Jamacia in the building next to Aruba and were just a few steps away from the parking lot. I didn't spring the extra money for a preferred room, but I was very happy with it. It was clean and close to both the car and Old Port Royale.

Being a bad Chauffeur, I only let the Pirate & Princess have a snack before we boarded. ;) Needless to say, they were starving (they said). This was perfect because our first dinner was scheduled for 9:00 at Jiko. Jiko is a tradition of mine and I have now passed it to the kids. They loved the AKL and Jiko. Silly me didn't think to take pictures because I was too excited.
