OK, FOLKS, THIS IS MY VERY FIRST EVER TRIP REPORT.

IT WON’T BE TOO LONG BECAUSE AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE TITLE, WE WERE ONLY ACTUALLY IN THE PARKS FOR A DAY AND A HALF.

IT’S A VERY SHORT CAST:

ME & DH

WE CALL OURSELVES “DISNEY FREAKS” BECAUSE WE LOVE DISNEY AND ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH DISNEY. I HOPE THAT DOESN’T OFFEND ANY OF YOU ON THESE BOARDS THAT LOVE ALL THINGS DISNEY BUT DON’T CALL YOURSELVES “DISNEY FREAKS”. IT’S NOT A BAD THING…IT’S JUST THAT NOBODY ELSE IN OUR GROUP OF FRIENDS OR FAMILY REALLY UNDERSTANDS OUR OBSESSION WITH DISNEY. OR THE DIS BOARDS FOR THAT MATTER…I STILL CAN’T FIGURE OUT WHAT’S WRONG WITH THEM.


OK….DAY 1 OF FIVE DAY TRIP:
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2007 OUR FLIGHT LEAVES AT 4:40. SO DH AND I GET OFF WORK A LITTLE EARLY AND HEAD TO MIDWAY AIRPORT TO BOARD SWA. WE WANTED TO ENJOY AS MUCH TIME AS POSSIBLE IN OUR FANTASYLAND OTHERWISE KNOWN AS FLORIDA SO WE JUST BROUGHT ONE CARRY ON SUITCASE EACH SO THAT WE DIDN’T HAVE TO MESS WITH BAGGAGE CLAIM AT ORLANDO’S AIRPORT.

FLIGHT GETS DELAYED A LITTLE DUE TO SOME NOT SO NICE WEATHER SOUTH OF US. BUT, YA GOTTA LOVE THOSE SWA PILOTS…WE STILL LANDED ON TIME IN ORLANDO!!!!

I COULDN’T EVEN TELL YOU WHAT TIME WE GOT OVER TO SSR, BUT WE CHECKED IN AND WALKED AROUND TO CHECK OUT DVC’S NEWEST HOME AWAY FROM HOME. THEN WENT BACK TO THE ROOM TO UNPACK. IT WAS TOO EARLY TO CALL IT A NIGHT, SO WE JUST HOPPED IN THE RENTAL CAR AND DROVE AROUND WDW WITH HUGE DORKY SMILES ON OUR FACES. OH, ONE MINOR DETAIL I FORGOT TO MENTION…DS-7 AND DD-4 STAYED AT HOME WITH THE GRANDPARENTS. THIS IS OUR FIRST TRIP ALONE WITH NO KIDS IN OVER FIVE YEARS. I LOVE MY KIDS MORE THAN ANYTHING ON EARTH, BUT EVERY PARENT NEEDS A SHORT BREAK FROM THE PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES, RIGHT?!

Maybe you were wondering why we were only in the parks for one day.

That's because three years ago when we were there, we bought 5 day hopper passes w/ no expiration and Florida was having close to record breaking high temperatures so we left the parks a day earlier than planned because we couldn't take the heat & humidity any longer.

So, today is our big day to go to all four parks in ONE day

So, we leave SSR at 8:15 and go to AK first to ride EE for the first time. We got a FP because it was experiencing technical difficulties, so we didn't know how long the regular line would take. So, we headed over to Dinoland and rode Primevil Whirl twice in a row without even getting off the ride! Then we rode Dinosaur...ok now it's time to go ride EE!!!! WOW, was that ride awesome! Disney has outdone themselves again in the ride department!! I took an awesome picture while we were at AK

So, that's all we did at AK...I know we didn't do a whole lot there, but we had four parks to hit in one day!! Next stop...MGM...

We rode TOT twice in a row (but we had to get off and get back in line, this time). I don't know if the computer just picked two excellent rides in a row or if it's the fact that I hadn't been on TOT in three years, but I think those were the best two rides I've ever had on TOT. By the way...TOT is my FAVORITE ride in all of WDW! The only other ride I really wanted to go on was RRC but it was closed for "our future enjoyment"! So, we shopped a little in the shops. We bought a Mickey ears hat for our new four month old nephew who is supposed to be going with us on a WDW/DCL vacation next year. I hope he likes it, we got his name embroidered on the back!

We left MGM and went to BW to get some YUMMY hot dogs from the hot dog stand. We asked the CM working the hot dog stand if he would take our picture...normally we take our kids' picture in one of the red chairs, but since they weren't with us didn't mean we couldn't carry on the tradition, right?

After we filled up our growling tummies, we headed over to EPCOT.

We rode MS ORANGE side....to those of you who have to ride the Green side...I'm sorry! You miss such an amazing experience! But, I understand, and I respect you for not taking a chance of giving other riders an unexpected extra on the ride!

Then we picked up a FP to Soarin and headed over to Finding Nemo which, by the way, is a really cute ride! I love how they incorporated the "cast" from NEMO into the real fish tanks! We still had some time to spare before our FP's were good for Soarin, so we headed over to Mouse Ears. How can you go to EPCOT and not shop in Mouse Ears?! It's like going to MK and not walking through the Castle. Oh, wait, my sister in law did that.

Ok, so we spent enough time(and money) in Mouse Ears and now it was time to ride Soarin. That will be one of the rides you can ride over and over again and never get sick of riding it. It's just AWESOME!

We wanted to see the newly refurbished ride in Mexico. I think it's really cute with Donald Duck! Although I miss the guy towards the end of the ride following your boat begging you to buy something from him!

After we rode that, we hopped on the monorail to go to MK. We've never been to WDW at Halloween time...I loved the entrance to MK all decked out with the Pumpkins!!

I've got a whining 4 year old standing here demanding my attention, so that's all I can write for now. I'll be posting the rest of our day at the parks soon. And our MNSSHP!! Thank you for reading so far!!

FRIDAY MORNING WE SLEPT IN. WHEN WE FINALLY DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO ROLL OUT OF BED, WE WENT SHOPPING AT CHARACTER WAREHOUSE @ THE PRIME OUTLET MALL (I BELIEVE). GOT MOST OF OUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DONE THERE! THEN WE WENT BACK TO SSR FOR A QUICK AFTERNOON SWIM BEFORE IT WAS TIME TO GET READY FOR MNSSHP. WE CHOSE NOT TO DRESS UP FOR MNSSHP, BUT NEXT TIME WE GO, WE DEFINITELY WILL!!

WE ARRIVED AT MK ABOUT 6:30, AT WHICH TIME THEY WERE LETTING PEOPLE IN FOR MNSSHP. IN CASE ANYONE ISN’T AWARE…YOU GET A WRISTBAND & A TRICK OR TREAT BAG WHEN YOU ENTER THE PARK FOR MNSSHP SO THAT THE CM’S CAN IDENTIFY YOU AS A “PARTY GO-ER” THEY DO NOT ALLOW “PARTY CRASHER’S” AT MNSSHP. AS YOU ARE WALKING DOWN MAINSTREET, CM’S ARE HANDING OUT HALLOWEEN TEMPORARY TATTOOS AS THEY ASKING THAT YOU STAY TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE STREET SO THAT THE PARTY POOPERS….OOPS…I MEAN THOSE THAT CHOSE NOT TO ATTEND MNSSHP CAN EXIT THE PARK USING THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STREET.

SOME OF THE CM’S WERE WEARING FACE PAINT, BUT NONE OF THEM WERE IN ANY TYPE OF COSTUME. SOME OF THE CM’S WORKING THE RIDES WERE GIVING OUT CANDY, BUT NOT MANY. ON ONE OF THE RIDES (I’M SORRY, I DON’T RECALL WHICH ONE) THE CM WAS USING A VOICE CHANGER IN THE MIC SO HE SOUNDED ALL SCAREY.

THEY HAD 12 OR 13 SPOTS SET UP TO GO TRICK OR TREATING THROUGHOUT THE PARK. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE NIGHT, EACH CM HANDED OUT APPROXIMATELY 3 PIECES OF CANDY. BY THE END OF THE NIGHT, THEY WERE HANDING THEM OUT BY LITERALLY SCOOPING UP THE CANDY WITH THEIR HANDS AND THROWING A BUNCH INTO YOUR BAG. I WAS THINKING IT WOULD JUST BE CHEAP CANDY, BUT WE GOT MINIATURE CHOCOLATE CANDY BARS TOO!!!

THEY HAD FREE FACE PAINTING (ALTHOUGH, I GUESS THAT GOT PAID FOR THROUGH OUR TICKET PRICE TO GET INTO THE EVENT!) WE ELECTED NOT TO GET OUR FACES PAINTED…AFTER ALL, WE LOOKED SILLY ENOUGH WALKING AROUND WITH OUR BLINKING MICKEY EARS THAT I FORCED DH TO GET!

NOT ALL OF THE RIDES ARE OPENED FOR MNSSHP…WE RODE SPACE MOUNTAIN, PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN, THE PEOPLE MOVER THING IN TOMORROWLAND (THIS IS JUST AN AWESOME RIDE WHEN YOU JUST NEED TO RELAX BUT YOU DON’T WANT TO JUST SIT IN ONE PLACE!), AND SPLASH MOUNTAIN, AND WE WATCHED PHILHAR MAGIC.

NOW THIS IS WHERE IT GETS FUNNY!!! AFTER WE WENT DOWN THE HILL ON SPLASH MOUNTAIN, WE SAW A GUY ON THE BRIDGE DRESSED AS FRED FLINTSONE. SO MY DH YELLS “HIYA FRED!” AND THE GUY GIVES HIM THE “ROCK-ON” HAND SIGN AND YELLS BACK “YABBA-DABBA-DOO!!” I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PEE MY PANTS I LAUGHED SO HARD!

THERE IS A SPECIAL (AWESOME) PARADE DURING MNSSHP THAT BEGINS WITH THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN COMING DOWN MAIN STREET. UNFORTUNATELY I DIDN’T GET TO SEE HIM VERY GOOD BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO TAKE PICTURES OF HIM AND THEY DIDN’T TURN OUT!! ANYWAY, WHILE WE WERE WAITING FOR THE PARADE TO START, DH DECIDED HE’S GOING TO GET A HOT DOG. WELL, THE GUY IN FRONT OF HIM ORDERED FOOD FOR 10 PEOPLE SO IT TOOK DH FOREVER TO GET HIS ORDER. AND WHILE HE WAS IN THERE, A THREE MAN BAND CAME OUT ONTO MAINSTREET AND SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME (I HAD MY BUTTON ON THAT IT WAS MY B-DAY...IT WAS EARLIER IN THE MONTH OF SEPT., BUT I WAS STILL CELEBRATING MY B-DAY AT WDW). SO, OF COURSE, I ENJOYED THEM SINGING TO ME, BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH MORE MAGICAL MOMENT IF DH WAS THERE TO ENJOY IT WITH ME!

SO AT THIS POINT, WE HAD DONE ALL THERE WAS FOR US TO DO AT MNSSHP AND DECIDED TO HEAD BACK TO SSR AND RELAX IN THE HOT TUB. IT IS JUST SO RELAXING TO SIT IN THE HOT TUB FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES AND THEN LAY DOWN ON ONE OF THE BEACH CHAIRS AND STARE OFF INTO THE NIGHT SKY!!

SO, THAT'S IT, OUR MNSSHP EXPERIENCE. WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AND WE ARE ALREADY PLANNING ANOTHER MNSSHP TRIP WITH THE KIDS EITHER NEXT YEAR OR THE YEAR AFTER

One More Thing I Forgot To Mention...as We Were Leaving The Park, Cm's Were Handing Out Regular Sized Bags Of Kissables. They Were Also Throwing Multiple Bags Of Those Into Our Trick Or Treat Bags. We Got Six Bags Of Kissables!! Yummmmmmm!!!!!
