Aromas that remind you of holidays or other special memories

Hi all

Do you ever smell something that reminds you of a special memory? Like a perfume, food or anything else?

I do

Cinnamon~reminds me of breakfasts with my family in Florida.
Giorgio Beverly hills perfume~reminds me of my honeymoon in Cyprus.
DKNY perfume~reminds me of my very first trip to Florida.
M&S Peach body spray (they don't make it any more )~reminds me of the birth of my youngest Dd awwww....

Am i just strange? Or do others do this as well?

Oooo I was thinking this last night while i was in the shower.


The Gliss shampoo and conditioner that i took to Florida and my Vitamin e scrub that i took when im in the shower it reminds me of Disney LOL!

Scent is well known to be one of the most powerful memory joggers.

Jeyes fluid/disinfectant reminds me of Brownie meetings (we met in a school hall at the same time the cleaner was at work in the corridors)

Lavender reminds me of my Nan.

Cold Creme soap of my other grandma.

Banana boat sun cream of Florida.

New books of Christmas (I always got an annual of some sort.)

I'm not quite sure what the smell is I think it might be some sort of incence (sp?) stick and it reminds me of when I used to sit by my dad's coffin before he got buried. (I'm not morbid I promise )

The orange air fresheners I bought in the Cracker Barrel remind me of Soarin' (the orange grove bit obviously ) at Epcot. I put one at the bottom of my wardrobe at the end of the summer and today I dug out an old pair of gloves to make snowballs with today and they were next to it so the gloves smelt of oranges - I kept thinking of Soarin' all day!
