Two questions actually -

1. Will the ticket price increase with the most recent announcement of price increases in other tickets?

2. Can you add days to the tickets?

I would guess that the prices will not increase until the promotion is over.

You can't asdd days to the ticket- you can upgrade it to an AP but only get the exact amount paid for it- not the amount equal to the value of the regular ticket.

You can purchase a 2nd set of tickets for additional days.

The last time prices changed and they extended the promotion rates went up
From 109 to the current 126 I believe it is

Remember, there are two kinds of tickets available to the Military. The regular Disney Magic Your Way (MYW) tickets, and the Armed Forces Salute special promotion tickets. The Armed Forces Salute tickets are for 4 days with either PH or WPF&M (or both for extra $27). They have not been included in this Disney price increase. Although you cannot upgrade this ticket to add days, you can buy and use more than one 4-day ticket per person. There is a maximum purchase of 6 tickets per transaction, and as of this writing, there is no apparent limit on total tickets or transactions allowed per family. I look for that to change, but so far-so good.

If buying more than one AFS ticket per person, a smart strategy would be to buy one 4-day ticket with PH, and one 4-day ticket with WPF&M. Then you would have many choices over multiple days.

For comparison, if you bought two 4-day AFS PH tickets, that would cost ($138 x 2) $276 for 8 days
If you bought a Disney MYW 8-day PH ticket, that would cost ($275+$55) $330 (at the new June 12, 2011 price)
If you didn't need 8 days, then a MYW 6-day PH ticket would cost ($259+$55) $314

The AFS tickets are cheaper. Calculations do not include tax. :)

My DH and I worked the numbers for this just yesterday, and if we are wrong somewhere, please let me know.
We are going in Sept. for a full week. We were going to buy the Stars and Stripes for the four days and also a 4 day pass for the Magic Your Way, or whatever it's called. BUT, we found it's cheaper for us to just buy the 8-day MYW military tickets instead... saving us 600 dollars!
For 8 days, with 3 adults and 2 kids, it will be 1616.
For 4 days each of the two different kinds of passes, it's 2216... because it's 690 for five of the four day cheap passes, then 1526 for the five regular military passes.
I am so glad we checked! We are going to buy our 8 day passes first thing when we get there. It is always a good idea to check all the numbers before you buy anything!!!
Good luck!

Not sure if I was understanding the one reply. Can you use 2 military tickets on one person for 8 days?

I have 2 adults and 1 child needing tickets for 7-8 days.

I also have family traveling with me with 2 adults and 2 children.

Thanks for the help.

You might want to check out some of the other threads floating around on this topic right now. It appears that there's no limit on how many times you can buy the 4 day $138 military tickets, as long as you only buy 6 at a time. In other words, buy 4, then 4 days later, buy 4 more. I would think this would save you money over the 8 day MYW, since each person would need $276 worth of tickets, or $1,380 total. Cheshire Figment, who works the Disney ticketing booths, has verified this!

Thanks for the answer. I found one of the other threads now and see most of my questions answered!

YES. You may buy 6 total AFS tickets in one transaction. You may use more than one 4-day ticket per person. In your case of two adults and one child:
. . . 6 AFS 4-day PH OR 6 AFS 4-day WP, OR
. . . . .3 AFS 4-day PH tickets + 3 AFS 4-day WP. Cost would be $138 each ticket x 6 tickets = $828.

. . .6 AFS 4-day PH AND WP for $165 each ticket x 6 = $990.

. . . Magic Your Way Stars and Strips Ticket, which is for length of stay only, for an 8 day ticket for 2 adults + 1 child = $974

Cheshire Figment has verified a new Disney rule that allows the purchase of more than 6 AFS tickets, as long as the additional purchase is done in a separate transaction of max. six tickets. Disney has no maximum number of transactions you may do this. It is not confirmed if SOG would allow the additional transactions. Perhaps only Disney ticket booths offer these additional transactions, which would mean there would be a sales tax charge for the additional transactions.

Here is an excerpt from Cheshire Figment's Ticket Post, plus a link to an entire explanation of the AFS ticket program:
Disney has added (on June 8, 2011) to the internal rules: "Guests may participate in this offer as often as they wish as long as no more than six (6) tickets are sold in each transaction." But it still limits activation by a spouse to five tickets; to activate six tickets the service member must be present.

As the poster before you pointed out, if you wanted a complete ticket for 8 days with everything included, the cheapest ticket (by a few dollars) would be Magic Your Way Stars and Strips Ticket. You may also purchase a regular Magic Your Way ticket (expires 14 days after first use) through SOG, which is a regular Disney MYW ticket without the sales tax charge.

And yes, it is as confusing as all get-out. If I made a math error, someone please correct me. :)
