Armed Forces Salute voucher and FP+

I've read a few old threads with people talking about how they were able to link their Armed Forces Salute vouchers to MDE, in order to reserve their FP+, before getting to WDW and trading the vouchers in for tickets.

Since the threads are old, I didn't think I would get answers, so started this new thread.

Anyone who has done this, can you please tell me HOW? I scanned the bar code on the back of the voucher like MDE said to do, but it then asks for a 12 or 16 digit ID code, which doesn't exist!

Any help would be most appreciated!

If you have an exchange certificate you can link it to the MDE. If it is not working you can call them and see if they can do it manually. I was able to add ours a month ago with no problem. Did you try putting the letters and number under the barcode?

That makes sense and is what I assumed, until I read of people saying they linked their VOUCHERS, made their FP+, then went to WDW, and had the vouchers turned the plastic TICKETS, and their FP+ worked!

Sounds like people are using the term vouchers interchangeably with exchange certificates.

Some people in another thread said they got a plastic card to exchange them. They weren't able to link them. Op do you have a green exchange certificate ?

That could be right. What I had read said Vouchers, and I notice mine say Exchange Certificate. I thought they were the same thing. But now Ellie05 says she did it with an Exchange Certificate. I'm sooo confused!

How did you do it? Were you able to do it manually or did you call? There are NO letters and/or numbers under the barcode? Weird! Looks like we'll have to wait until we get there.

I noticed there is an option to copy the FP+ schedule of another person. Maybe my DH and I can go ahead and make our FP+, since we have APs, then the other 4 members can copy ours once they get their tickets? 2 are in our room, but the other 2 are on a separate reservation, so it may not work for them?

Anyone think that this might be an option?

Yes, they are green Exchange Certificates. DH bought them when we were down there in October for this upcoming March trip.

I was able to scan them with my phone there are some letters and numbers left corner under the barcode. Give them a call see if they can do anything maybe the ones you got had some problems printing.

Thanks. There are no letters/numbers under the bar code at all. Yeah, I wonder if they didn't print right, or got cut off short or what. Now I wonder if we will even have trouble getting them exchanged for tickets at WDW without anything under the bar code.

Guess I'll be giving someone a call!

It would be helpful if every base ITT did the same thing in regards to AFS tickets. I've used these tickets multiple times over multiple years and never once have I ever had a voucher or an exchange certificate. I'm always given what is my actual ticket, that is inactive until I activate them at the ticket booth.

For what it's worth the only ITT that is worth a salt when it comes to WDW tickets is the one at NAS Jacksonville. When my idiot base in Washington had no idea what they were doing, I called down there on a whim and they fed ex's me my tickets after I filled out a form and faxed it back with a copy of my ID. This base ITT here in Oklahoma is staffed by morons as well, so I'm doing the same thing again. The Jacksonville ITT always takes care of me.

I don't know if things have change since the whole fp+, because all our trips prior to this one we always got tickets too. Same base, same office first time we were given the exchange certificate.

Is this what your tickets look like?

If so there should be numbers under the barcode to use to link. If they are not there, maybe there was a mistake in the printing as suggested?

my MIL is the one who bought them, so i'm not 100% sure if theirs were exchange certificates or vouchers. either way, they did have a number under the bar code that we entered into MDE. for our trip, MIL, FIL, and DH each had two of the four-day tickets. we were able to enter all of them and make FP+ reservations for our seven park days.

once at WDW, Guest Services transferred the certificates/vouchers to their MagicBands and their FP+ all worked fine.
