Ariels outside??

My boyfriend and I are heading to the parks in May and have booked the WOC dinner at Ariels for our anniversary, he was only able to get a reservation outside however for the time we wanted. Is this going to be a problem in May evening weather? Its my BFs first trip to DL and I have never dined at Ariels so dont know it well enough to know if outside is worth it? Will we be cold? What happens if it rains? I could ring and change the booking to inside at a later time but thought I would try and get some opinions first, any takers?

The chance of rain in May is very low. I would not worry about that.

Will you be cold? I would bring a sweater just in case but odds are that the weather will be fine to eat outside.

OP there are heaters, if it's cold they will be on but yes, I suggest taking a jacket/sweatshirt just in case.

You still get the AP discount when eating outside. FYI - the princesses are not there at dinner time, the only benefit is the WOC pass.

Thanks everyone! I think from what you've all said that I will leave the reservation as it is and take an extra sweater to keep warm! Wonder if I could ask the staff if I could take the WOC chocolate film strip home with me, it looks so pretty I wouldnt want to eat it! That would be interesting trying to get it home on our 14 hour flight without breaking it!

If the princesses are not there at dinner, I may have to reconsider eating there. It was awkward when we were there before and didnt plan to go back even if the food was decent. I like the furry characters, but seems odd to play along with the face characters.

You mean reconsider to actually eat there? It's very good food, and with the dinner package you get special viewing for WoC. Could be very worth it.

We loved the food at Ariel's, but wanted something more quiet than the character dinner. My tentative plans were to go to the Wine Country Trattoria to get the WOC passes - even though we ate there once and had a miserable time there too. The food was awful and the service was almost non-existent.

Hoping that WOC passes will be added to the 1901 restaurant too. We are going in December.

We're not interested in characters this time round, we just want a nice meal with good food at a relative price, the woc passes are a nice bonus

I had dinner at Ariel's in November for the WOC dining and I wore a lighter jacket. Sitting outside in the evenin was a real treat and I have full plans to have another WOC dinner outside on my next up coming trip. Everything is lit up and sparkling, the music is playing, people laughing and it's just so peaceful. The food as well we found to be very good. I had prime rib and it was A+.

I am so sorry to hear about your poor experience at the Wine Country Trattoria. We have been there twice for lunch - never dinner. We loved the food and the service (one time the waiter was going off shift and made the point of bringing the new guy and introducing him). I would be very sad if I had a bad experience there. I would say it is our favorite DCA restaurant.

We have been to Ariels several times and liked the breakfast better than the lunch. While the character experience has always been great - we found the lunch menu just okay.

It will probably be between 50-60 degrees at that time of night in May with virtually no chance of Rain.

Just an FYI, there will probably not be much rain here until after summer now.
