Ariel's Grotto Princess Breakfast

We did it when it first started and it was great!!! My girls loved the crowns too. I will post pics. Our plate was smaller because it was just me, dd-5 and dd-2. Families had bigger plates.

Looks great!! Ariels was a highlight of our first trip to DLR as a family and we look forward to it again...

I rarely pay any attention to reviews.. both good and bad. We do what we do and for the most part have a really great time doing it.

I mean maybe the first time we went to Ariels the food was really bad.. or maybe it was really good.

At this point I would be hard pressed to tell you what the food tasted like, BUT I can tell you how happy all my kids were while we were eatting there.. they were over the top happy.

From what I heard breakfast is pre-plated. You start with previously frozen pastries and then to a greasy plate of eggs, bacon, etc...

I think that place is one of the worst places in the park! I can't believe adults for dinner cost $35 each for a hamburger! It is NUTS. I spent a fortune at Disney every year but this is one place that will never get a dime from me again!

The best is you only have 4 princesses come to your table. Some of those 4 could consist of other Disney favorties such as Alice or Wendy. Crazy!

The worst part about it that they are always full! They will keep raising the prices like they have since they put princesses there and it will always be full! I remember the good old days when Mickey and the gang were their dressed in their sailor outfits. They interescted with everyone so great! They played games and danced with the kids. The price was so cheap! You got cotton candy at the end of your meal. The kids meals came in buckets w a shovel you can take home. It was a GREAT place!

Even the portions have changed there. The kids hot dog and mac and cheese used to big a decent portion. Now they give half a hot dog and toddlers get 1/4 of a hot dot.

Ok, I am getting off my soap box now. That place just disappointed me! It totally takes advantage of something. Now Disney is expensive but when you can go to Goofy's Kitchen, eat all you want, actually interact with the characters, dance with them and not just be apart of a 4 character assembly line, it is SOOOOOOO much better.

I agre! Ariel's is the worst of all the character meals! I would never pay $35 for the horrible food and even worse service you get there! We gave it three tries over the past few years and it just seemed to get worse and worse!

I haven't had breakfast there, but have had lunch. Spendy, yes, but the character interation was fantastic. All the princesses we saw (Ariel, Mulan, Belle, Snow White, and Aurora) were fantastic with my girls and loved all over the baby we had with us. Even my dad got into the action (he just couldn't resist getting a hug from Aurora). The food was a mix---my meatloaf not good, mostly because it was cold. Everyone else got burgers and said they were good---girls were so excited they couldn't eat.

Dessert was really good, and so was the soups and salads. I guess it just depends on how much you love the princesses.

Oh, and the crowns were fun and everyone got a special Ariel's Grotto pin with the princesses on it.

We went to Ariel's 3 times on our last trip. Once for breakfast and the whole family (even picky DH) liked it. We had great fruit, and my kids loved the muffins/bread. The eggs were ok, my girls loved the fried potatoes (a little greasy but yummy), and we special ordered a plate of bacon well done (which was cooked perfectly). In all we felt much better than waiting hours at PFF to meet princesses. We saw Cindy, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, and Snow White all 3 times. We were even chose to be the royal family of the day at breakfast and got to announce the princess arrival (and Aurora, our favorite) and got a special photo op.

Lunch was standard park food, not great but good. It was much better than the food at Goofy's, so I was happy. Character interaction was much better also. My nanny loved the salmon sandwich.

So, would you say character interaction was better at breakfast over lunch? Did you prefer the food at breakfast over lunch? Still trying to decide where to dump my money. It's hard deciding when there are so many bad reviews, but I promised dd that for her birthday she could dine with the princesses. Thanks for any guidance.

We felt that the character interaction was much better in the morning. There were also a lot less people. We had empty tables around us in the morning, and went the next day for lunch and it was packed. Also at lunch they did not pick a royal family, so I guess that only happens in the morning. We also had a much longer time to chat in the morning than the lunch period. It was quite in the morning and a zoo in at lunch. We would def. do breakfast over lunch any day. Now, it may change and be crazy at breakfast as more people find out about it.

My kids really loved the breakfast, except my son who does not like eggs at all. They loved the breads, which are the same ones sold at the bakeries at the parks, and the fruit. They did bring us 3 trays of the fruit, cheese, and breads so they had their fill. I really liked that they made extra bacon well done. The waiter said we could get as much as we wanted also, so that made the boys happy.

Ate here for dinner 3 different times and we absolutely love it!! The food is great, the atmosphere is beautiful and really what you expect from Disney, and best of all, the PRINCESSES!!! We have NEVER seen less than 5 Princesses, and once, we even got Princess Minnie in the cutest outfit! And they all posed with our daughter several times. In fact, Belle even got on the floor with my then 3 year old after she got up and ran after her AFTER she had spent 10 minutes at our table! Amazing!!! Also, the kids meal came with a dessert AND a bucket with shovel with cotton candy in it (we tossed the cotton candy tho!) Yes, it's a little busy but with a PS no big deal. Everything is beautifully timed and EVERY Princess hits EVERY table, no exceptions. We have done Pooh and Friends breakfast, Goofys Kitchen, Minnie and Friends Breakfast and seriously, this is the ONLY time we see more than 3 characters!!

How much is the breakfast for adults? (DD will still be 2 when we go---so I'm assuming she would eat off our plates for free?) Is it all you can eat or just the one plate to split between all of us (DH and I are both big eaters, and that just didn't look big enough, esp. for 3 of us)? We would love to do it, as DD loves princesses. I would personally rather do Minnie's, but she is still scared of characters up close in the full costume; so should do fine with the princesses. And to me, all breakfast food is the same, as long as there is enough of it. And thanks for posting the pictures!!

Does Ariel's Grotto still do breakfast? I just checked the DL website because I wanted more info on it and it only lists lunch and dinner. I was hoping for the breakfast.

I think the general consensus is yes. It started in October and runs through end of Jan as a trial run so I don't think anything is on the website yet. You should just call Disney Dining directly and I'm sure they will let you know times and prices. Have fun!!

Great, Thanks! We're going in August before the Panama Canal Cruise so I have time, but I really wanted to do this for breakfast.

Just an FYI:

I just hung up the phone from making a PS ressie for me and my dd in Feb. The CM said the earliest seating they have during off-peak periods is 9:40 am. She said they will offer earlier dining reservations during busier times, but then I believe the earliest is 9 am.
