Does anyone know if they decided to continue the Princess Breakfast in DCA? I am taking my neices for their first trip in April, and I'd love to do the breakfast if they still have it!

Vicki

Last I heard, they are still offering it. Earliest seating time is 9 am.

Darn! You're right..We were planning on doing the breakfast... Need to call tomorrow I guess.

I booked one this morning! :woohoo: I'm glad that I asked because I didn't see it listed in anything.

Are the breakfasts any good? I hear mix reviews about the lunches and dinner. But I wanna try the breakfast for sure next time I go.

We were also thinking about booking Ariel's as I believe this is one of the only chances of seeing the princesses - apart from PFF. :sad1:

I have seen the lunch and dinner menus online, but does anyone know what they serve for breakfast?

From what I heard breakfast is pre-plated. You start with previously frozen pastries and then to a greasy plate of eggs, bacon, etc...

I think that place is one of the worst places in the park! I can't believe adults for dinner cost $35 each for a hamburger! It is NUTS. I spent a fortune at Disney every year but this is one place that will never get a dime from me again!

The best is you only have 4 princesses come to your table. Some of those 4 could consist of other Disney favorties such as Alice or Wendy. Crazy!

The worst part about it that they are always full! They will keep raising the prices like they have since they put princesses there and it will always be full! I remember the good old days when Mickey and the gang were their dressed in their sailor outfits. They interescted with everyone so great! They played games and danced with the kids. The price was so cheap! You got cotton candy at the end of your meal. The kids meals came in buckets w a shovel you can take home. It was a GREAT place!

Even the portions have changed there. The kids hot dog and mac and cheese used to big a decent portion. Now they give half a hot dog and toddlers get 1/4 of a hot dot.

Ok, I am getting off my soap box now. That place just disappointed me! It totally takes advantage of something. Now Disney is expensive but when you can go to Goofy's Kitchen, eat all you want, actually interact with the characters, dance with them and not just be apart of a 4 character assembly line, it is SOOOOOOO much better.

Wow..maybe I should reconsider this as a character meal for the grandkids..anyone have any good experences there?

Thanks for your opinion, Brooklyn - it's much appreciated. By what you have said and the mixed reviews I've read about dinner, I think I'll save my $$ by missing Ariel's out of my plans all together. :snooty:

The way you described the "old" character meals there sounds really fun - wish we'd been able to go to DL when they gave you cotton candy at the end of your meal! :cloud9:

I'll just stick with going to Goofy's Kitchen and maybe go to the Lilo & Stitch breakfast at PP instead. :goodvibes

Oh boy, I would MUCH rather eat Ariel's than Goofy's!! We had a horrible experience at Goofy's, very little character interaction, kids weren't thrilled with the food and neither were we. We would much rather eat at Ariel's where we will actually eat.

The breakfast at Ariel's in served on platters, you get a 3 tiered plate with different kinds of cheeses, pastries (mine did not taste frozen, they were actually really good), spreads and fruit. Then we got a plate with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, we got to chose our drinks, they had juices and coffee, tea or milk. You see 5 Princesses, you see Ariel when you first walk in in a ballgown. We normally see Cinderella, Jasmin, Snow White and Aurora, we've never seen Alice or the Fairy Godmother or anyone else.

We even enjoyed the lunches we've had there, sure it's pricey but for us it's worth it. Even the burger was good. And yes, I am a food snob, just ask my friends. LOL FWIW, we will always chose Ariel's over Goofy's.

you have to take the good with the bad. We didn't think the lunch was anything spectacular, but we saw 5 princesses in one hour. I can't even bear the thought of how long we would have had to wait in line for that many princesses. So, to us it was worth every penny. :) Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth!!!

I always leave the "all you can eat" places feeling like I didn't get nearly enough to eat, and i'm a light eater! I feel like I spend so much time going back and forth to the buffet, trying to make sure to time it right so we don't miss a character, and trying to find food we like.

At least at Ariels I am served a plate of food I know I will eat -- the salmon BLT. It is just devine!

I have not had breakfast at Ariel's and I am a bit prejudiced against the character breakfasts because I don't think eggs or pancakes should cost quite that much! I also don't like wasting valuable morning park time on a sit down meal.

We've been to Ariel's twice and have enjoyed it both times. We've been to Goofy's once and will probably not go back there, but instead go back to Ariels while DD still loves pricesses. When she outgrows them maybe we'll skip the character meal all together and try the Blue Bayou!

My experience at Ariel's Grotto was not bad but not great. The princesses seemed to have a difficult time posing with the girls, except cinderella - what a great pic!! We went for lunch and no one was impressed with the food. I did find that is was worth it just because we didn't have to chase the princesses down in the park and wait in line.

we did the Princess Breakfast in October and really enjoyed it! The food was yummy and there was plenty of it. We saw Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Aurora, and I think Jasmine. The breakfast is MUCH better than their other meals. We ate there a year earlier for dinner and it was terrible. I would recommend the breakfast. Oh yeah, the kids are given a thick paper crown to decorate and my kids loved that.

Thanks everyone for the information! Even though there are mixed reviews, I am definitely going to book a breakfast at Ariel's, for the following reasons:

DN5 is notorius for not eating!! She never eats when everyone else is ready!! So I figure that going for the first meal of the day, she will be more likely to actually eat!!

This will be the first Disney trip for both DN7 and DN5. DN7 still doesn't like to meet Santa!!! :rotfl: I've taken them to Worlds of Fun here in Kansas City twice now, this past October being the latest. The characters at WOF are the Peanuts gang, and the girls wanted nothing to do with them!!:scared1: Not even Snoopy!! Although I don't blame them, Linus is a bit creepy!

So I think getting them started with a meal of just princesses, which are all face characters, might be the best way to start!!

Hopefully they will then warm up to the other characters.

Vicki

We did it when it first started and it was great!!! My girls loved the crowns too. I will post pics. Our plate was smaller because it was just me, dd-5 and dd-2. Families had bigger plates.

cool ty for posting pics. We loved it befor but i didnt like the burger much it was hard to eat and i so wanted shrimp wish they would of had it.. but the brekfest looks better

Looks good! I think we'll try this. We will have 6 adults and 5 kids, and I plan on this the last day we are in the park..we don't leave until 7 at night..ugh...so I'm hoping to get a late breakfast reservation and this will be our first stop of the day.
I think all the kids will love princesses, esp the 2 little girls, almost 4 and almost 3. Any Photopass people around there?
There used to be a AAA discount and I htink also DVC. That may help some.
