Ariel's Grotto and Photo Pass

I have a question it's been a while since I have been to Ariel's Grotto and we have an ADR for our Halloween Trip for lunch as DD21 is a HUGE Little Mermaid fan. Anyhow, when they take a picture of you and Ariel do they have Photo Pass photographers where if you have Photo pass as part of your A/P you get the free download or is it just a photo you can purchase? I can't remember as at the time I for one didn't have an A/P and for 2 I also didn't have photo pass. TIA for any information on this one.

Photopass is definitely there. I believe you only get the digital download (not the whole picture packet) with AP, but I can't remember if AG is different than anywhere else. It's been a while since we've eaten there!

I don't need the whole picture packet as we bought that last time but since they have Photo pass included in A/P's I have noticed the decline in photo pass photographers so, I was wondering if they still have the photo pass photographers recently and if you would still get the free download.

I'm pretty sure. All of the character dining does pictures. It's how they getcha for a few more bucks.

When I did character dining in May a couple restaurants told me I was only able to get the PP download (without buying the package) because I had a Premier AP. As if they weren’t doing it for other APs anymore. I don’t think that’s really the case though. I’m sure they probably still do it for anyone with PP or there would have been an uprising by now.

No all do it. I ate at Storytellers in July and they didn't have a photos photographer

Ok this is perfect then. I have a Signature AP and did get free Photopass in July so, this should work out.

Just to warn you it’s hit & miss if they’ll just give you the card with your download code or make you view & reject the printed package first. It drives me absolutely batty that they waste the paper to print a picture package that I’ve already told them I won’t be purchasing, but some locations/CMs insist on it.

Thanks for the heads up. They are probably hoping you will see the picture and purchase it anyhow. In my case I've already purchased the package so this time will just be the download.

We went in February and they do have a photographer it was excluded from photo pass. I think it was $30 for a 5x7 or possibly larger.

What’s worse is when we went last month we had bought the $99 photopass package which included the printed dining package photo pack. I didn’t realise I needed to bring some voucher which came in the DVD case, the CM who showed us the photos at ariels was the CM who sold us the package at the photo supply (and pin traded with DD) he told us to go into the photo supply store on Main Street to get the photo the next day.
Easyily done with no problems but they reprinted the package-why they didn’t just hold onto the photo I don’t know.
