Booked flights yesterday (had gone up over the weekend so more expensive when I went to book!).

Just checked hotel tonight - SL, over half term, and it's only gone up by £500 . They've pulled the 30% off offer . If I hadn't booked the flights i wouldn't be going as the price is now silly for 5 nights.

I can't book yet as I'm waiting for some money coming through to book it as well - thought I'd be fine as long as I booked before 31st Jan as it's been showing 30% off for weeks!

I really think someone, somewhere doesn't want us to do this trip. I'm really sad now.

I'm gutted . The rate is now standard rate so I guess we can afford to hang on and hope another offer comes on - even 15% is better than nothing. £500 increase is just awful and will hugely eat into our spending money!

That'll teach me for moving money around in places I can't get hold of it overnight!!

Actually, thinking about it, do the prices go up in April generally at DLRP - did I read that somewhere? So, if we leave it and other offer doesn't come along, in theory the std rate could go up too?

Anyone feel like you have to remortgage these days to go to DLRP?

No don't have to stay in SL but with the 30% off it was an OK deal. I'd sort of talked myself into the hotel too and was quite looking forward to it .

I saw your earlier post and am tempted but will sit tight for now I think. I'm not adverse to staying off site but would prefer to be able to walk into the parks rather than get on a bus with the littlies, plus there is EMH & tickets to think of meaning we'd have to buy APs I guess. More than my little brain can cope with at the moment

Give them a ring, and just play the hubby working away, rare family holiday time, you were waiting to get confirmation of his leave and when you did the price had gone up and now can't afford it - kids are gutted etc. And see what they say! Worth a try!

Also I remember ringing somewhere that ringing early in the morning is beat as more rooms are released in the morning. Can't remember where though so don't know if there is much truth behind it

Ouch, that is bad news.

And dreadful of DLP if they've sneaked the prices back up like that. Ads for 30% off if booking by 31st January are all over the TV still (saw one yesterday), and there is one at the bottom of my screen as I type this.

I would definitely call them and check, say that ads for the 30% off are still running. I'm sure in the small print they will be reserving themselves the right to withdraw the offer earlier, but it's not good if they have - the sort of thing Watchdog would be interested in, though that won't get you your cheaper holiday.

Julie - know what you are saying but Disney know their stuff, it states up to 30% off so no guarantee

Just rang them - got nowhere - to be honest the CM I spoke to was very brusque - worst I've spoken to which is typical when I'm trying to get someone sympathetic.

He barely wanted to check the dates for me to see what was available at the time and just kept saying how busy it will be as it's half term (and that other countries have holidays around that time - erm who - he told me Spain the week after and France the week before - not from what I've seen??) and so we risk the hotels selling out. I think if Disney can cope at high summer, they are going to cope with UK half term .

Got the total impression he just wanted to get me to book anything (or nothing) - maybe his commission is short this month. Like I say, he barely wanted to check the dates and said quote "well, it's not worth me even checking the SL if you looked last night"

Was not impressed at all - don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting them to give me the 30% off but I was expecting better service. Telling someone you risk not getting a room at all as it will be so busy (when frankly I know it won't be that busy compared to summer/xmas) is wrong imo and a lie.

I had that happen before the offer disappeared & when I phone was told they could only sell at th current price. They release more rooms each day to be discounted. I held out & got the money off but it a constant check each time.

It was for 2010, I managed to get 40 or 50% off the DLH.

Thanks for that - I see it was June you went. I suppose it was quiet and that is why it was discounted so much.

The CM told me that there may not be another offer on the June half term as "they don't need to offer the rooms at discounted rate as they know they can sell them without". But then he said he didn't know either way after that. One of those conversations where you go round in circles....

I'd sit tight if i was you. It's very unlikely that the entire hotel will be sold out. We managed to get a 50% discount last July, the high summer season. It was a flash sale and came out just after a previous 40% off had finished.

We are going in May and not booked hotel yet as I'm sure there will be a better offer when this one finishes. I really can't see there not being. It's a bit of a waiting game i'm afraid, but going on the past few years, this is what they've always done. We couldn't afford to go without a deal.
