I was supposed to work at Worlds of Fun tonight. I guess it's tradition that on the last week of operation we are open on Thursday. I never understood why since we have no staffing, very few rides would be open, and they knew it would be raining all day. But I did go to work. It was about a 40 minute drive in torrential downpours.

I got there, and nobody was there! I checked my cell phone, and Aaron had called to say, "I'm sure you got the message, but remember, work is cancelled for today." I really wish I had gotten that message before I drove to work. I guess they called and texted him three separate times starting at noon to tell him that they had cancelled operations for tonight, but they never once called me! I am irritated that they never called me to tell me, but at least I don't have to work tonight!

That sucks that you drove all that way in horrible weather to only have to turn around and do it all over again. :headache: But like you said, on the up side, you had the rest of the night to yourself!!!

I'm confused though. You said they called and texted you 3 times since noon, but then in the same sentence said that they never called you.

A lot of people use texts to communicate now instead of picking up the phone and calling. I have just gotten into the habit of checking because you never know.

It stinks that you had that long drive in a downpour but at least you got the rest of the night off!

They called/texted my boyfriend Aaron (a supervisor). He did call me on the way to work and left me a voicemail, but I did not receive it until I was in the parking lot.
