We are supposed to leave for Disneyland this week and my son is very sick, it is looking like we will not be able to go. We bought tickets through Ares travel and they expire January 15th so we don't have a lot of time to use them before they expire. I know we had to fill in our names and put down who would be picking up the tickets and it said we had to have photo ID etc. Does anyone know if it is possible to have the tickets changed so that we could give them to someone else?

If it doesn't work out for us to go we could possibly give them to my parents to take our son after Christmas or just give them to someone else. I am going to call when it is normal business hours today and ask, I just thought I'd ask here since I am losing sleep over this :(

Not sure how to break the news to our kids that we probably aren't going :sad2:

They don't really expire, they hold their value. That said if the price increases before you can go you'll have to pay the difference. I called and asked the same thing a couple years ago. I'm sorry your son is sick. :( Hopefully he will be better in time to go!

Really?!? Oh that is awesome, I would much rather pay a price difference than lose out all together. I didn't get a chance to call today, but we were sitting here now trying to figure out if there were dates we could move our trip to before they expired. Thank you, I will definitely double check now and let my family know this could be an option. Phew!

Thanks again Todzwife, you are correct! But the weird thing was we called Ares Travel and they told us this was not true and all tickets expire and you completely lose out, so then we called Disney just to double check and they said exactly what you explained Todzwife. They even said we could email our voucher (even though it was through a third party ticket vendor) and apply for a refund before they expire if we did not want the ticket credit. They were so nice.

I hope if this ever happens to someone else they come across this thread and don't just think they'll lose out on their ticket purchase.

We did have to cancel unfortunately. Once we get the clear from our son's doctor we will look at a time to reschedule, and luckily there were no tears when we told DS. He knows we'll get him there eventually :)

I'm glad I was able to point you in the right direction!! You'll get there soon. Is he feeling better at all?

Thanks, unfortunately he is not much better. He got up a little bit yesterday and we were a little hopeful and then it all fell apart quickly. This is more than just the average cold though and has been going on for 8 weeks now :(. We will be back at the doctors this week to go over new medications. I am hoping we can maybe make it to DL in January if not we'll have to wait till Spring. Just can't wait to have a healthy kid again!

I'm so sorry. Is it that nasty enterovirus68?
