Area for least motion?

Between an oceanview at the front of the ship or a balcony far aft which would have the least motion? Both on deck 6 on the Wonder.

Or would be better doing a midship balcony?

We are booking one of the Hawaii cruises and our concerned about motion sickness crossing the Pacific.

We're always done the mid-ship veranda. Just got off the Wonder Sept 10 from Alaska in stateroom 8038 and it was smooth sailing.
I notice movement, up and down, when walking around parts of the ship forward and sway when in the aft dining rooms.
Let others give their experiences with forward and aft staterooms, but we are dead-center on room location.

The closer to the middle is your best bet. If you deal with motion sickness I would not recommend booking the front or back of the ship, although I think the back might be a little more stable. Try to get as close to the middle and I've read the lower the better although I've always liked being higher up.

Thanks. We have been fine on all other cruises but have never done one in such open ocean.

I wouldn’t do aft on Wonder, not because of movement but because of vibrations. Expect a smooth sailing at that time of year in the Pacific.

I strongly recommend you get as close to midship as you can, and the lower the deck the less motion as well. If I had to choose between forward and aft, I would choose aft. I am blessed not to get motion sickness and rather like some rough-ish seas, but I have a DD that has suffered greatly from motion sickness since she was small. She and I did the 10 night HNL to YVR Hawaii DCL cruise in 2015, and she did great until we got a bit over a day out from Vancouver where we really got into the rolling of the Pacific current (sure it has a different name, but I don't know what it is. :cutie:).

DD takes Bonine/Meclizine starting the day BEFORE her cruises, and continues throughout the sailing no matter how calm the seas. She also liked some of the homeopathic tablets for motion sickness I got her. But she REALLY liked the acupuncture "seeds" placed by the acupuncturist onboard in the spa. She said those helped a bunch!

Our seas were fairly calm until a day or so out of Vancouver, but it didn't bother me.

I have sailed the Wonder many times, and when I have a choice I like aft rooms. I have never had the vibration issues except from the side thrusters when docking. But that's me. :sunny:
