Area around Disneyland

We are planning to stay at a RV park in Anaheim for 4 nights in July. It is on W. Midway Drive around a mile from the park. I have started to get concerned about the area. Some people are telling me that Anaheim is not a nice place to stay. Any advice?

I think that it is more unattractive than it is dangerous. I used to live in LA and I don't think that Anaheim is a dangerous place. It was just overdeveloped in a cheap way.

Thanks. Unattractive I can deal with. Travelling in an RV is new to us, and I am a little nervous about that in general, I just didn't want to add staying in a "seedy" area to my worries. Some of the people who gave me their "advice" about staying in Anaheim haven't been there in the past 20 years. I figured I would check here for some more up to date info!

Theres a RV park in Ball rd bout half a mile from DL, the only one I saw. It within walking distance and has a supermarket and other shops nearby.

It's very tourism drived, there are some bad areas yes, but the development has pushed those areas away from the tourists with barriers, etc. to avoid problems. Yes, some people do still experience theft in some locations. Keep things locked and keep windows closed and items of value far from view. The DL parking garage was robbed not too long ago, but they were after the money from the attendant.

Stayed at some not so great places over the years - even before the nicer development started happening. I don't think you're any less safe there than at some other hotel. If you're very concerned, call the management at the RV park and ask them if they have had any incidents at their location.
