Late. When my kids were on summer vacation, my dd wouldn't wake up until anytime between 10 am and 1 pm. My ds slept until about 10 most of the summer.
My youngest dd can be a later riser like her daddy! I dread the teenage years as I think it will take a stick of dynamite to blast her out of bed! LOL My oldest dd is more like me. Overall, she is an early riser, but this summer with staying up a little later, she's been sleeping later. It's a dark, rainy, cool morning here and they are both sleeping. (alas, I get quiet DIS time) Monday, is going to be painful getting them back into the swing of school as they both have to get up at 6:40 am. I'll take them the first day and then after that, it's the alarm clock and dh's problem.
Unfortunately my kids still have to get up normal school time during the summer as I have to work. The good part is it makes an easy transition with school starting in a week.
On the weekends they both sleep until 7:30 or 8:00 which still isn't that late.
DS had to get up for band camp today but he had been sleeping until 10 or 11. DD is still asleep. She was a camp counselor this summer and did have to get up every morning before her campers.
My oldest is early...hes usually up before 6:00am. My youngest is late. If hes not up by 7:30 I will wake him. If he didnt take over an hour to eat Id let him sleep later.
I've got one early riser and one that would sleep all day if you let her! LOL We've been very lax over the summer.. getting up around 9 or so, but school's coming! We need to get up earlier! Ugh. Not looking forward to that!
My daughter does that too! She jumps on the bed, and brings the dogs with her. So at 6 am on a Saturday, we have one 6 year old, a Lab and a poodle (plus us!)
Usually by 6:30 we are up and at 'em. If they wake up before that, I let them crawl into bed with us and they will often fall back to sleep. This morning I had to wake them both up. I help them get dressed before they even get out of bed. That way they are somewhat awake when they come downstairs.
They will sleep later on the weekends, especially if it is still dark out.
When they were little they got up early. This summer it's averaged at 9:30-10am for the 3-12 yr olds. But they stay up until 11pm with my DH and I so I'm glad they sleep a little later.
Half way throught the summer my 15 yo DS, who had been sleeping until 11-12, asked me to wake him btwn 8:30-9. He said he realized he was sleeping his summer away. Could this be a sign of maturation?
DD sleeps until well past lunch hour, like 1-2 o'clock, except when she had to get up early (7am) to take her prescription meds to treat Lyme disease. she had to rise early to time taking the meds with eating - a real pain in her rear for a month.
