Cute!

My oldest is going as Hugh Heffner. My youngest is going to be a Star Wars Trooper.

Our school doesnt allow costumes. They did have a PTA hosted event last night that they were allowed to wear costumes to.

My DS has to a report & dress as a famous Hoosier or have prop. He picked Reggie Miller.

Just checking in. Catholic school here, no masks, no face paint, but costumes totally allowed and also having HALLOWEEN PARTIES in classrooms.

It's mayhem! Kids are actually allowed to participate in a kid-oriented holiday!:thumbsup2

My kids go to a public Montessori school. Each grade dresses up but in a theme that goes along with what they are learning. I would prefer it if they could just do the regular costume, but the kids don't mind (to them its an extra costume) and I LOVE pretty much everything else about the school, so I'm not going to battle this. They still get parties and a fun day.

Kindergarten theme is community helpers. Ds is going as a scientist by day Jack Skellington by night. 2nd Grade is a Pioneer theme. They are going on a field trip to a museum where we will spend the day as if we are Pioneers from the 1880's. So dd, dh and I will all be doing our best Little House on The Prairie tomorrow and then at night dd will get "the best of both worlds" by dressing as Hannah Montana.

I think she looks cute. At least she doesn't look like a hooker. You should be happy.

DS 13 is going as Shaggy, on his treat bag we made a big sign " LOST DOG Scooby Doo Where Are You?" with a pic of Scooby in the middle. We'll see if people get it this year.

Last year he was Calvin and Hobbes. Bright yellow spiked hair, stripped t-shirt, old fashioned converse and carrying a stuffed tiger. Everyone thought he was Harry Potter:headache: .Granted at school his nickname is Harry and in public complete strangers come up to him and tell him he looks like Harry, but come on, bright yellow hair and a stuffed tiger? I must have missed that chapter.

nope, christian school so the 'h' word dare not be uttered:rolleyes:

i worked at a christian school years ago that finaly caved and decided to do some kind of costume thing for halloween (only they called it 'harvest day' ). the admin came up with the 'bright' idea to let the kids dress with a 'career theme'. basicly-come dressed up as 'what i want to be when i grow up'. i think it would have worked out o.k.-except we had one girl come in SKIN TIGHT leather (pants and a very skimpy halter) because she wanted to be 'just like mommy-a biker babe', and a second who came in with her hair in rollers, wearing a housedress-augmented to make her appear 9 months pregnant and BARE FOOTED (she claimed she aspired to be 'everything i can be' ('within the acceptable aspirations this sexist, male dominant church sets forth for women'):scared1: :lmao: :lmao: :rolleyes1

are you surprised that after that year by some odd co-incidence whatever the closest school day to halloween was-it was out of session for 'staff development day':rotfl2:

DS is in 7th grade and doesn't dress up for school anymore. DS is in 3rd grade and is Hannah Montana (her idol). I am wearing PJ's to work today!!! (wish they were the dress code, so comfy!!!!)

:thumbsup2

DD went yesterday as a CowGirl and I'm not posting any pictures of it.:lmao:

They had there thing yesterday as they only have a 1/2 day today.

our schools stopped letting the kids dress-up about 20 years ago. The grade schools still have parties, but its was always fun when the kids dresses up too.

Your DD was cute!

no costumes for dd school.but tonight she is Alice in Wonderland and my ds is the white Rabbit.

Yep!!! ::yes::

Both of my girls have their parties today, and costumes are welcome, as long as they don't have any dangerous weapons associated with them.

My 9yr old is Elizabeth Swammpirate: , and my 4yr old Belleprincess:

Here is my son but the picture is blurry. He is Willy Wonka.
