I would have to say yes for the most part.
I have three real close friends. One has a DD my oldest son's age. My 2nd friend has a DD and a DS who are the same ages as my two oldest sons. My third friend has two sons, her youngest is the same age as my youngest.
We don't discuss our kids all the time when hanging out but when we do we have a lot in common.

My DD is much older than my friends' kids. I remember when I was pregnant and first had my baby, I was sort of left out of the loop - I just didn't have alot in common with all my childless friends. Now, I'm getting a little sweet revenge - my DD is a teenager and I get quite a bit of free time, while they, on the other hand, don't.
