The first couple of times we cruised, we had verandahs, however, the main thing I didn't like was that everyone had to squeeze past our bed to get to the living area and the verandah. Also, we like to sleep in a very dark room with no light coming in to wake us up. My sons would complain that when I got up early to sit out on the verandah that I let the light in and woke them up. So, we switched to an inside cabin on decks 5, 6, or 7 and have been very happy because it is dark to sleep and our bed is way in the back, the living area by the door where people come in. It is worth the savings. We are right across the hall from the verandah rooms we used to have, same deck.

We have been on 4 cruises 1st was an ocean view and the last 3 were verandas.

HMMMM.....Cruise with an inside cabin vs the cold temps and snow we have had lately. ::yes:: Give me the inside cabin. :)

I agree that for someone prone to getting sick the veranda is good. We are on our first cruise and chose veranda simply because the fresh air will do me some good when I know I will be feeling sick. Plus, just like when I am in a car, I need to see "where I'm going" to get my "sea-legs".

I once asked the rebook lady how much it would cost to sail in a cat 6 on the Magic for an entire YEAR! She laughed at me. :)

Great idea! When she laughed, you should've said "well, then, is your job available?" with a grin. :rotfl:

As long as I don't have to swim along behind the ship, I'll be happy!

HEY! Great idea. The kids are pretty good swimmers and we could throw them a line at meal times. LOL

We've sailed inside, outside and verandah. My vote is book an inside cabin and spend the difference (or more) in the spa.

I have to have the verandah as my husband won't cruise without one. I actually have a hard time spending much time in my kid's inside cabin as I really start to feel the motion of the ship and we always stay on deck 5 on DCL. My kids however love their Cat 11 and whenever we ask them if we should upgrade them to a verandah cabin they all say NO WAY!!
