Are you so happy with National that you rarely look elsewhere?

My rentals that last two years have been so cheap through National that I know I can't do better elsewhere. This month, I rented a full size for $82 for a week and our rental in July is for an intermediate for $99 for a week. I can't believe any other company can come close to these prices. Add in the convenience and you have one happy customer.

I know non-Disney Club members do not get the same deals, but for those fo you that still are with DC, do you ever look elsewhere?

For the past several years I have always booked with National. They always seem to have the best rates for me. They offer Entertainment coupons, and DC discounts that no one else seems able to match.

I came close this year when Alamo became the sister company of National and became onsite...but in the end the Disney Club discount at National beat out Alamo.

I've got $111 Total for a Full size in Nov/Dec for a week.

BUT once DC is gone, I may have to go to Alamo as I suspect they will have the better deals next year! We'll see!

I always check all the majors, but at MCO, at least, Natl. always ends up cheapest. That may change when the DC ends.

Count me in this club. I find that, with my Emerald Club membership (through work), I can usually find a pretty good rate. I like just walking across the street and picking out my car. We've never had any problems. We haven't rented from anyone other than National in a LONG time.

I have used National for every Orlando trip I've made in the past three years (about 10 trips, I think). I always check out all the options, but National has consistently had the best rate once I apply all the various Contract IDs, coupons, etc. I also really like the convenience of Emerald Aisle service.

Once in awhile, one of the others is very close on the price. For my last trip, I almost used Alamo because it had the best deal (though I wasn't thrilled about the prospect of waiting in line). However, at the last minute I found a new Contract ID at National that brought the National rate to just below Alamo's.

However, keep in mind that I'm always renting an Intermediate or Fullsize car. For those who need minivans or other vehicles, Dollar often has the best deals.

We do pretty well with AARP, not the DC discount for sure, but, about 12-15% off. And, I manage to find coupons for 20.00 here and there, and I find that National is my best bet.

gail...sometimes aarp can go as high as 30% off base rate, but the kicker is there that the base rate is higher than the base rate if you do not put a code in ...sorta like Hertz and AAA discounts....the discounts sound good until you realize if you use the coupon, the rate is higher than if you did not put the CDP# in

we too book national a lot.....orlando, las vegas, norfolk, baltimore just to name a few within the last couple of years

it is the one i check first

I am also an emerald aisle member. Right now, I have a reservation through National for an intermediate for 5/25-6/03 for $178.00. I can rent through Alamo for $154.00 for the same size car.

I like the convenience of National, but the savings for Alamo is nice too. What would you do?

I've used National exclusively for the past 5 years and have always been happy. I got a free Emerald Club card through a number posted on a DVC board years ago. I have priced others, but National is always better. I'm at WDW now and I'm paying $122 incl tax for a full size for the week. That's with Disney Club and a $20 Entertainment Coupon. Can't beat that!

I've been happy with National so far. However for this Dec I'm not sure what will happen. I didn't pay $10 to extend my DC membership to the end of the year; I didn't expect the "old" DC code would continue to be good -- it was supposed to expire about a year ago! But I'll stick with National if they come up with a good rate.

The contract codes still work and there was a coupon in the DC newsletter as well.

Kes, you can mix coupons and codes on National. In other words, you can use the DC code and a coupon from BJ's, which, btw, is now 15.00 (just picked it up today), glad I still have the one from last Feb. that they never took from me.

We have rented a minivan in June. We have to go to the counter because we both want to drive.

I've used Dollar for the past few years since they've had the best price for on-site rentals. For our upcoming trip in August, National was by far the best (all in $328 for 10 days minivan using codes and coupons). No one else is within $60.
