Are you ready for summer?

I have several pregnant friends and they like to use blogs for their pregnancy updates. :)

To answer your question, I don't really have any plans to swim this summer, so the awesome bathing suit I bought last year and wore to lounge at the pool at Wilderness Lodge will just have to wait til next year!

I was rocking my bikini last weekend in the hotel pool during our girl's weekend. I've got abs!

Oh I am ready, well I am working on it anyway. ;) I'm trying to lose weight for the summer and we have a Disney trip coming up. If my DD makes cheerleader again (I think she will) we will be going back to the beach for cheer camp again. I have a lot to look forward to so I am ready!!:cool1:

Nope not at all. I live in Southern California east ot Disneyland. We have some brutal summers and skyhigh electric rates. So paying 700 a month to keep my house just barely livable in 110 degreee heat isn't much to look forward to.

And post away about your pregnancy and all that goes with it. It isn't like most of what is on the Dis hasn't been discussed ad naseum before. heck we have an entire forum dedicated to storllers and carseats(the disney for families forum) I enjoy reading about it from a safe distane!! Better you then me!

Some stores here are already selling swim suits. :yay: I'm so excited. I can't wait to buy a maternity swim suit. There are some really cute ones, but for like $80!

Try Motherhood. I bought mine there when i was big and pregnant. They are inexpensive. I am laughing seeing you posting this. If I remember you wrote something about moving to Baton Rouge in the future. This of us in the deep south usually don't want to think about summer approaching. Hot and humidity!

I forgot - Congratulations on the new baby! Enjoy shopping and post a pic of you in your new bathing suit!! :woohoo::yay:

Heck yes, I am ready for summer!

As others have mentioned, this snowy winter has me down in the dumps. We just got another 1/2 foot last night and it is still snowing this morning. I was out last weekend and saw all the shorts and capris in the stores but I couldn't give myself hope by actually shopping for any :rotfl: Not yet, anyway.

My DH plays baseball and I know spring is coming when he starts his workouts. That is usually the end of March and the season starts in May so I can't wait! Down with the crappy weather!

Nope - I like things the way they are now - low 80s and breezy. I can do without the summer humidity!

Plus, I am never ready for summer as long as I keep this extra weight on. I haven't been successful at budging it, so I don't feel great in my swimsuits. :headache:

I can't wait for summer! I am looking forward to doing things with my daughter that don't cost $$$! But more than anything, I'm ready to be done with SNOW! But I actually wore a swimsuit yesterday for my daughter's first swim class, so I guess that 'first' for the season is over.

She is beautiful! :lovestruc

I live in Florida and will be happy to see Summer!! Although the weather is pretty sweet now too. I am pretty sure they sell swim wear all year round here. Heck I have swam the whole winter at our Y.

Normally I would say heck yes to the 10th degree, but this year we invested in a bunch of ski season passes that have not yet paid for themselves. And now we have some warm and rainy weather, so I'm actually kind of bumming (which is shocking, I LOVE hot weather!)

Nothing like dumping a whole lot of money into a snow sport to make you appreciate winter just a little bit .

I love the social part of summer, when my neighbors sit outside after dinner while the children play. It's so nice. In winter everyone seems holed up inside, except for scheduled social or entertainment events on the base where I live. I'm really looking forward to it. We don't have a vacation this summer, so I'm going to try to make the most of it by enjoying the summer nights with good company.

NOOOOOOOOOOO but then I now live in central FL been swimming just about every day for 3 weeks already got a very nice tan going. Bought me a new swimsuit in January just cause I seen 1 I really liked an knew my size would be the 1st to go. Not looking forward to July an August.

I'm never ready for summer. I like it cold, and I like looking out the window and seeing snow on the ground!

But I truly mean this thread to be about how surprised I was to see the bathing suits out in the stores in February!

My Facebook status at the end of December(!) mentioned seeing bathing suits in the stores!

I enjoy reading about it from a safe distane!! Better you then me!

Haha... my thoughts exactly!! I love it when people are excited about their pregnancy :goodvibes

Try Old Navy....now this was 8 years ago, but that's where I got mine and I KNOW I didn't pay $80 for it.

Also, watch yourself in the sun. I never burn, tan and get dark very quickly, but I burnt to a crisp when I hit the beach preggers. Just be sure to use LOTS of sunscreen and watch yourself. Hormones wreaked all kinds of havoc on me from sun burn, to a cavity or two (and I had NEVER had a cavity in my life) and my eyes (I was an occassional glasses wearer pre-DD and now if I don't have my contacts in, I can't see squat).

BTW, I'm soooooo ready for summer :)
