Hello everyone! I've been stalking these boards as my sister is in the process of trying to get into the DCP for Spring Advantage 2014.

My sister just did her phone interview and her top roles were FSFB and Concierge, both of which she has experience in. She put low interest for housekeeping and custodial, so of course her interviewer asked if she would be willing to work custodial. She told them that although it was not her ideal role, she would be okay with it, because she currently works with dogs and it can be a messy job. I keep reading stories of people who answered that they would be okay doing and were automatically placed in that role. Does that mean that she is automatically going to be stuck doing custodial if she gets in? She says she panicked and was afraid of saying no. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated! :)

Not sure if it is automatic or not, but my son did the same thing during his interview, and yes, he is doing custodial. So if that is offered, she will have to decided whether or not to accept. His mindset was, "It's still 5 months at Disneyworld."

That's her thinking as well. No matter what role she gets, she will make the best of it. I am definitely curious to see what the trend is with this question! :)

It's not automatic, but there are many many people who select no interest at all which increases the likelihood that those roles may be an option.

Thanks for the input! I guess now we just wait. :) Hopefully she hears something soon!

The one caution, or two that I would have is that they present custodial as a role with "Extensive Guest Interaction." And that is true is you are in a park, and have "Street Shifts." However, you could be placed at a resort, or like my son, who is in a park, never or rarely get a street shift. He has had 2. Every other shift he has spent in a restroom. He's happy he's there, but would love to get out more often.
