I am actually attempting ('attempting' being the operative word) to rally the troops for a short DLR the same exact weekend you will be there, GraceLuvsWDW (and Pixiewings71, too!!)! I am not sure if we will go into the parks on both the 12th and the 13th or just a frenzied, chaotic, rushed trip on the 12th, but that is the weekend I am aiming for! Maybe I will see you there (that is...if my plans don't change, which they inevitably will)!

Thank you, Courtney! You know the trouble I had getting the last mini-DLR trip off the ground, and while I was happy to go, I feel I didn't get to explore or take enough photos, etc. I hate being so rushed and having everything kind of crammed close together. I am in the process of trying to run the dates past everyone and seeing what reacton I get (the 'I don't have any money to buy my own food even if I get a free hotel and free tickets' chorus will start in).....so it may not happen if they all protest. Or maybe I will go solo (in which case, maybe I will change the dates)!

I have that same problem with WDW. I try to bribe friends with paid for items (rooms, extra one day tickets) but can't seem to find a fellow Disneyholic (except of course everyone on this board and my dd!). Most of my girlfriends have to "ask permission" from the hubby, which never turns out well! I have to coach one on how to look at WDW trips like his Golf Trips! (quid pro quo)

We are going the 11th, 12th and 13th. Staying at the Desert Palm Inn with my family, my parents and my sister and my niece.

I am excited, we usually go during the day and drive home in the evening. We plan on seeing Fantasmic for a change.

I know - I remembered that your days at DLR were right in there, but I didn't want to get my hopes up yet - because, frankly, you know about the ordeal with my plans for Halloweentime. So I have put the dates 'out there' to the girls to see what kind of reaction I get. It may only end up being a one-day thing on either the 12th or the 13th, or I may squeak a hotel stay in there somewhere. Or they may opt for the weekend before, which means we would go on the 5th (the days Courtney leaves). But that 12th/13th weekend looked better than the following one this year, and there was still some availability at the PPH then if I got a room at PPH. So cross your fingers that I get a positive response!

Notice that this time period ranging from December 11 - on to like the 14th seems like it is very popular among DIS-ers, as several have already stated they are going to be there this year!

Just keep in mind that Dawn and I will be playing a scavenger hunt thingie most of the day of the 12th (for another site) where we are not allowed to communicate with other than our team members. So we need to set up anytime to chat with you girls other than during the day on the 12th.

So, we are confirmed flying in to San Diego Friday 11th am and flying back out Monday morning 14th (I know, short trip). Everyone else in our group has fallen out of the DL one day trip so I can pretty much pick either 12/12 or 12/13. For all of you vets, which is better? A Sat or a Sun?

There have been some reports of Saturdays being a bit LESS busy than Sunday this year because of some annual passholders being blocked out on Saturdays. I'm not saying which actually IS less busy. (I was sure that Saturdays would be better but Sunday was fine too--I actually didn't notice any difference beetween Saturday and Sunday in June.) But there are enough differing opinions that there's probably not a huge difference.

I would personally think that overall late Sunday NIGHTS might be a little less crowded than Saturday nights, though, as even some tourists (like me) will have to leave before closing to be ready for work on Monday. So IF you can stay until close, Sunday might be the better choice. (On the other hand, getting to the park early--before the gates open, if possible--is key, so if you could get there earlier on one day then that would be the better day for you.

Have a delightful time! I'll be there that Saturday and part of Sunday too.

Yes, Kerri and I would probably be standing there, watching the ladies run past us at lightning speed as we held our hands up to wave!

Anyway, as I expected, I am getting opposition to the December weekend I wanted (the 11th - 13th), so we are still hashing it out to try to figure out a plan. We may still go on that weekend, but it appears to not be good for one person in the party, so back to the drawing board. I should have waited to say something until I knew for sure. Sigh....

Not a problem, we will be there the whole day on the 12th (well as soon as we can roll our butts out of bed, we are driving down the night before.....6 hrs at least.......) and we leave on the 17th so plenty of time to get together! I've still got your number, do you need mine?

My b/f and I want to go together, but with the way things are, he cannot afford a ticket into the park plus split hotel costs. So I'm going to visit the parks with my Dad again. I really want to stay at an on-site hotel! My thoughts were to arrive Thursday Dec 10, spend that night plus Friday (12/11), then leave Saturday the 12th.

For some reason- all the hotels have super high prices for that Friday night! What is going on 12/11? I know the Candlelight Procession is the previous weekend, so that's why we're waiting til this week..

Those are the exact days I am going. Get this, few weeks ago, PPH had the AP rate of $179 for Friday 11th. Now it's $198! I was wondering the same thing, what's going on that day
