Are you planning A Christmas Trip???

We are going over Christmas from Dec 22 to Dec 27. I am excited because I love Christmas and nervous at the same time because of the crowds. I am using TGM so hopefully it won't be as bad as I keep imagining. And I have warned my boyfriend about how it could be so that he doens't get stressed when he gets there. This is the 2nd trip for my daughter and I but our first with my boyfriend. :-)

We are going Dec 20-28th! This will be our first holiday trip to WDW! Our girls are 8 yr old twins and a 3 year old. We are super excited! We have the majority of our park stuff scheduled for the beginning of the week. We usually go during crowded times so we have lots of strategies. We are going to MVMCP on the 22nd!

I am most looking forward to resort hopping and taking in all the incredible christmas decorations! We saw Sam Brown's christmas special at disney and we cant wait to see it again this year. She's why we knew we had to do Christmas at WDW!

If I may ask what is the Sam Brown Christmas special? This is the first I've heard of it. :confused3

We are going Dec 3 - 13th, which will be our Christmas to each other, looking forward to all the wonderful holiday decorations and events to see and visist.

We will be there from the 20-28. This is our 6th Christmas at Disney! It is the best time of the year. Crowds start getting bad on Christmas, But it only gets worse the closer to NYE. ENJOY YOUR TRIPS EVERYONE!!!!

This will be our 1st Christmas there. We will be there Dec. 21 - Dec. 27. I am getting so excited to see all the decorations!! I've heard the horror stories about how insanely crowded MK is on Christmas Day, but, I'm ready for it. We have reservations for dinner at CP that evening, so, if we get into the parks EARLY, I think we'll be fine.

Yes, we are going for Christmas!! We will be there Dec. 23-29th. The trip is our Christmas gift. It is me, DH, DS 17 (turning 18 on Xmas eve!) and DD 14. Both kids are looking forward to the trip, even DS is getting excited about it though he was not earlier in the trip planning. We started planning in March, and it is soooo nice to say we will be going next month!!

Oh my goodness Sam Brown is a travel show host on the travel channel! She has covered the Beach Club resort, Grand Floridian, The Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom lodge. She did the most awesome show about WDW at Christmas time! Look for it during the month of December on the travel channel. If you have DVR begin looking for it and set it to record.

People will normally post the time and dates that her WDW specials air on this board.

It is our 6th trip but our very first Christmas holiday trip. Actually, the reason we chose our dates were due to DD's winter break. She is in her freshman year at college and it was either that or Summer. We are sooo excited. My TA tells me we will love it and it's her absolute favorite time to go so I can't wait. Hope everyone has a great holdiday!

We'll be in WDW for Christmas! :cloud9: Dec. 14th - 28th
We can't wait!

We area considering going that week with 2 other 'Crazy-for-Disney-Families'! What are the crowds like?

My family an one of the others have been several times- just never at Christmas- the 3rd family has been just once; it was in early June 2004 and it didn't go well (crowds, weather, blown-away by the sheer size of WDW, lack of planning, etc.) My other friend and I are admittedly obsessive planners  and are already working on the trip- we want everything to go just right for our other friend this time. It's been a longtime dream for us... are we crazy? Kids will be 8, 8, 11, 14, 16 & 18 (boys are the bookends, the rest are girls; experienced DisKids are the 2 oldest and 2 youngest)

As long as you have a plan and stick to it (more or less) and go knowing that this is not the year you will see/do everything, then you'll do fine.

Like I mentioned earlier, we planned all of our must see's earlier in our visit so as we got closer to the 25th we could relax more and just take in everything.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT fail to make your meal reservations. There's nothing uglier than a family being turned away at Le Cellier (Biergarten, Rose and Crown, etc - pick one) because there are no seatings available. Dad is irritated, kids are starving and mom is stressing trying to figure out how to make everyone happy.

Now that my kids are older, my husband and I tend to separate with different children so we can all get in what we want and cover more ground, so to speak. I used to hate the thought of missing out on seeing something with my husband, but now it just makes sense and goes a long way to keep everyone on track.

You'll have to do the planning for your rookie friends - they'll be miserable and overwhelmed without a sensible plan. Maybe they should sign up with TGM.

Good Luck!

We are going the 26th - 30th. This is our first Christmas trip, I am so excited , I have always wanted to go at Christmas I had to beg Dh since we went last September and we are going again next year , but we are going and I can't wait. The kids are so excited too. I just hope the crowds don't ruin the Magic.

We are leaving in a little over 3 weeks! So excited!!
We've been to Disney several times, but never, ever at Christmas. I am looking forward to all the decorations, CP, etc. while we are there.
