Are you off on Monday?

We are not. For some odd reason we had MLK day off ONCE and then never again. The fun of working for a very small organization.

I didn't remember that we were off Monday but I just looked and we are. What a nice surprise! I hope I forget this again by next year - I like pleasant suprises.

Yes, I am. I am truly thankful--spring semester starts that week and it's one of the busiest weeks of the year. It'll be nice to have a little break even though I'll have to pay for it on Tuesday!

DH and DD are also off--I'm looking forward to it!

Each year we switch between MLK and Good Friday. Some get MLK off and some get Good Friday off.

I'll be working. We've never had MLK Day as a paid holiday. But then, we don't have Columbus Day or Veteran's Day either.

Yep, we're off Monday, and kids actually have Friday off too for Teacher's Institute. So we're headed to Great Wolf Lodge at the Wisconsin Dells (wish it were Disney **sigh**).

Have Friday and Monday off. Friday is Lee-Jackson Day and Monday is MLK.

It is a paid holiday for us but just about everybody is working and taking a floater later. Most of our customers are open so the sales folks/ CSR's will be here which means I have to be here.

We also have President's Day in Feb. But after that, nothing until Memorial Day. We don't get Good Friday off.

I have it off and the kids are out of school. DH has it off for the 1st time. We are going to sleep in and then maybe go shopping w/ gift certificates we have and maybe to a movie!

No, we're not. Oddly enough, our next paid holiday is Good Friday (a day I've never had off in my career )

If I wasn't having a baby, I would be working Monday.

Yes, I’m off on Monday. I’m excited to have a long weekend to spend with DH because he is out of town all this week at a sales kickoff meeting in Las Vegas. (He wasn’t off, but had a floating holiday and took it—they get off President’s Day instead of MLK.)

No more official holidays for me until Memorial Day.............I'm sure the insurance industry would fall apart if we had a day off

Nope. We get off President's Day though which is nice.

I used to work in a CPA firm, so we didn't get any holidays off from New Years Day until Memorial Day (because of tax season). Plus you couldn't take any vacation time until after 4/15. I am happy to get Good Friday and Presidents Day off at least now.
