I was talking to Adventuredaz last night and he is still having problems with trading. And told me that some VMK hosts say only about five players have this problem. I told him I was having that problem till I took a lot of pins and clothing off my main and put them on another character. I also put all my furniture in my rooms except a few for trading. I hear others have that problem or have had that problem.

My concern is I think VMK needs to find a way for us to put our pins and clothing some where. After two years of playing some of us have way too much stuff we are carrying around VMK. I see this affects the memory on my computer more as well.

So I thought a poll would help to see really if this is an issue.

Comments concerns and ideas appreciated.

One I would like to see is we could buy clothing racks and when we put our mouse over them it could tell us what is hanging there.

How about a room just for pins we could stick on the wall. Because I know it would be too difficult to change the other rooms now.

yes yes YES.

It takes 7 seconds for an item to register on a trade. I can no longer trade on magicalladee.
I LOVE this idea. Or something like the photo album where we can put pins, or a wardrobe or SOMETHING.

The hosts are probably talking about me

I have well over 1000 pins and items of clothing. This causes me to lag, and its why you'll never see me in a trade room. I also cant trade anywhere else but here.

HELP ME VMK! :)

And for those of you who say to use a mule.. Im afraid to.. if my sister ever accidentaly logged on, and did something bad, it would be banned and my stuff would be lost... or soemthing like that.

im just very careful.

Yeah, when i was trading ice from my character to my mule..

20 minutes later, 50 pieces to go :scared:

It takes like what Magic said, 7 seconds to load a piece of ice..

Edit: I was trading 133 pieces of ice to my mule rofl.

Yeah i like the idea of clothing racks, manequins or closets. And the albums to hold pins in is a awesome idea too!

Now what about the furniture.. how about a U-Haul truck..

Yes this is a known problem. I never trusted myself to hold all my goods, so from the beginning I had a clone who held clothing and pins. Now I have a few that do that. In addition, I store (pins) some in a Quest Kiosk, but I know some people have had problems with losing items because they overload or fail to notice that each prize row allows you 20 items.

As for furniture, I do not carry anything in my pockets. If I can place it in a store room, that is where it will go.

They really need a place like a poster on the wall so you can display your pin collection, but I know that was requested or similar like that. Not sure if the programming limits it, but at least they did make our lanyards hold 15 pins.

I have been having more than just trading problems. For about two weeks now I have not been able to play any of the mini games like I used to. I did the uninstall flash and shockwave and reinstall ... no help. I did a system restore back to a point before I started have trouble and then I could not even connect to vmk. I undid the restore and can sign in again but the lag is so bad I can't even really type to talk to people.

I can trade if I am only trading maybe two or three items and then its a hold your breath kind of trade just hoping you don't freeze to the point of having to shut down. I made a new character to see if my inventory was the problem and the new character has the same problems as my regular one so inventory is not the problem.

I noticed to that its not just vmk that I have problems with but its all of Disney's sites related to vmk. The POTC game that gives the Sparrow codes has slowed by at least 50% and the Pirates game for the ship codes I can't play at all anymore bc it drags to much .. its hard enough to avoid the kraken without computer issues.

Im wondering if they are changing the game to be more compatible with windows vista and its going to slowly leave us XP, 2000 and other versions of windows users in the dust.

You do not have an option for me in your poll, but I do not have this problem, because I do not make it practice to trade.

The only people I have/will trade with are fellow Dissers, my daughter and my sister.

I have never experienced the issues you are describing, however.

But you do trade LOL so the option would be no not yet :)

I guess I would definitely qualify for having serious trade issues.

To clarify, The discussion came up because of the host trade the other night which I did not successfully go through. I do not blame the Host because I should have brought a mule I know I have the problem and the few that have traded with me have experienced the other side. I almost always bring in a mule to describe to the other party what is occurring and that after a crash I will be back or I will be on IM with them they have to describe what is in the window to me.

I was not told personally by a host how many have this problem a friend with the same issues said he was last time it happened to him. I think the low number 5 was just to say not many come in that they experience a problem. I think this is mitigated though because many probably use a mule to avoid the issue or don’t go. I have over 1500 pins and 70 rooms or junk stashed, multiples of most outfits sold. Two years adds up.

I wrote VMK about a year ago about the issue and they claimed it was a system issue on my side. Note I only had this problem on my main character, now starting on a primary mule. I can trade all day with characters with little. 90% of my trades will go through successfully with patience on both sides but do require restarting to finish. Obviously events are not the place for this trades taking over 1 minute slow the place down – I will bring a mule from now on. The following are the issues experienced:

Lag in the trade window – pronounced delay in items or text appearing to the point where it is frozen for a long period of time.

Difficulty selecting items and telling what I have chosen due to the delay. I have often given extra items by accident and it is not worth fixing issue after.

With a thousand plus pins it is not easy to find the pin I want to select causing further delay.

Complete crash during the trade at times.

Lagging out - I face up to a 20 minute delay in the trade completion on even simple trades if the trade concludes at all I will be frozen on my window for 5 – 10 minutes with delayed conversation and movement on screen that happened and is actually gone now – results is the same I have to restart to continue to participate in the game.

If you can complete a trade in 1 – 5 minutes you have not yet experienced what is to come. I do wish they had a solution and or a storage method. Putting all my furniture in rooms seams to help but makes it hard to find. I spent all day yesterday looking for stuff.

put all your extras on some mule and the problem will be greatly improved. I mean why do you need to have 1500 pins on ONE person? That's like what?10 of each pin? I HAD major trade lag, and by cutting out what I carry, it has helpped a lot.

VMK hasnt addressed this issue (and it's been an issue for a while) so take things into your own hands... Well OUT of your own hands and into a peeps.

For one Since I have the million credits I buy about 15 pins a week and try for around 15+ host pins so it is a perpetual problem. dispersing 1500+ pins off to mules 15 pins a trade, taking at least 30 minutes per trade is about 50 hours of straight trading. I already have around another thousand pins spread out on mules and frankly don't need to keep track of any more mules. If I decide to trade I would do so here on DIS and it is against trade rules on the board to post as alternate titles or to arange trades for other titles - so it doesn't really solve the problem. My decision to limit my trades to other people to very few has virtually solved it with about the same sucess as giving my pins to others to hold. I reality this is VMK's problem requiring a VMK solution. Belle simply wants them to be aware it is wide spread. OMG I just won another host pin what will i do, let me get a storage mule I have 30 minutes to waste.

I do have major lag when trading. But, usually only between cteddiesgirl and my main storage mule. My mule has most of the extra pins, clothes, posters and furniture that are not in use. Plus, all the posters and furniture are placed in rooms that state what they have in the descriptions. Some of the extra pins and clothes are stored in a quest kiosk as well. I also have another mule that has all the junk pins

This does make it a pain when I want to design a room or trade. But, it's worth it to keep from having so much lag in trades.

it has been a problem when there are more than 6 items then it seems to freeze on me, and then if items are removed forget it! It wont finishe trading and then i get severe lag in the game, im talking like 15-20 second lag.
I would love some way to store and even display your clothes and pins!!
And while they are at it make it easier to change clothes too! I have so much clothes it is a pain to use the arrow and slide through everything. I wish we could just pick what we want to wear from the items menu

Hi,

I know it is a DREADFUL job but I did do this. Bears and I have hours into trading pins and costumes on to a "Mule" as they say-although my mule does play. This did greatly help the problem. As my inventory went down the trades went faster. So towards the end trading them over was not a big deal. I keep majority of pins one one mule. I kept 3 of each on Bug. Same with clothes. I hope someday VMK can address this as I was having all the same problems as mentioned here. And general lag has been horrible.

While I basically agree with you Bearz, the issue is certainly real.. if VMK does not want a lot of mules/clones being made.. then it would significantly help to address these issues.

I do NOT carry any furnishings on me unless I am gifting or trading. So I have currently 17 rooms of just stuff. But it helps trading lag a bit.

But because I cannot put down my pins or clothing.. I too had to create mules to hold the stuff. I am NOT talking duplicates either (except for my Donald Duck New Years pins ;) ) As far as clothing, if I put it all on a mule, I couldn't change outfits to match whatever we are doing at the time! Again, not talking duplicates. So I have had to choose some outfits that I cannot wear, at the spur of the moment.. because I would have to trade with a mule.

My point being, I have severe lag in trading, despite already having done what I could to eliminate what I carry. Yes, 2 years of VMK addiction has me so overloaded with just the one of each.. it severely affects trades.

I too would love to see some way of putting down our clothing.. say like in Nintendo's Animal Crossing. Buying wardrobes, cabinets, anything that can "hold" items. In AC, each piece of that type of furniture can hold "virtually" a certain number of outfits, by "adding" or "removing" an outfit. Granted maybe not many can be held.. but it certainly is a thought. I myself would buy enough of these "wardrobes" to hold my clothing for my main character.. then the worst I would have to do, is to "go home to that room" to change clothes to join the others in the theme of the day, etc. Not have to trade with a mule. It sure would help speed up trades!

As far as the pins.. PLEASE, PLEASE I love Belle's idea of a room where we could 'hang' our pins on the walls. I so would love to display my Donald Duck collection (ok many rooms for that lol) but to even display the pins we love but just don't fit in as one of our 15 favorites for the lanyard. Again, it would help to speed up trading, as well as letting others see our collections!

Bottom line VMK.. many of us have been with you since the begining, and/or collected many duplicates of pins and clothing. We have presented in this thread, several possible, potentially even easy ways (programming wise) to allow us to not only make trading less time consuming.. but even allow us to show off our inventories much as we do with our furnishings. (No need to even "plan" special events to simply offer rooms to hang pins in, or wardrobes to hang clothing in!) Just put them out in the stores and the room shopping section. No fanfare necessary.. but a heck of a lot of "glove" would come back your way! Along with less clones! ;)

I have always thought of a pin traders room designed like the Downtown Disney pin store. A very simple room. A tall table and a bar sytle stools for furniture and a few posters. One large poster would be where you could insert your pins for display much like a collage photo frome in real life. The other posters would be signs that said things like "trading", "not for trade" "non tradeable" "magic pins" "host pins". These smaller signs could be placed in multiples above the larger pin display poster. That is my idea and I am sticking to it!!!! :lmao:

And yes, we do need a wardrobe room for the clothes too.

The thing is, there is already the basic programming done for closets. They're called quest kiosks. Unfortunately, they're so over priced for a storage unit and there are the problems of potentially over loading it and permanently losing stuff. :(

Well I am for anything that will give us some storage that we all need! I too am tired of storing on mule and then having to trade back! But then I ddon't store my revalables itens as I am also afraid of losing them on a mule! So please vmk I hope you are listening and can come up with something!

I think it was a better part of a week we spent making Bug and Bearz lighter...

I also now buy my multiples on the peeps. Just give them the credits from Bearz via the quest machine and Blam... no more having to trade them from credit rich bearz to credit poor peeps.

So while VMK Does need to address the issue, those with big problems CAN fix them. It's just whether or not you choose to take the time to do so.

:lmao:

I have moved stuff to other characters and then I get confused on what I have. I am not one to take notes on each and every pin, clothing and furniture I have. Though I a so jealous of those who can kudos to you.
Believe me I have tried:guilty:

So I have solved the trading lag problem now how to fix the organizing which mule has which. And yes all my mules have 13,000 or more credits on each and played regualarly. Waiting for that magic carpet to come out LOL
